Pretty silly question to ask a fan of a rebuilding team that covets picks and prospects. A team that wants to win now and pressed up against the cap would probably love adding a 25 goal, 45pt big body winger that has size, speed, and can play in all situations

If you get nice future assets coming back for Glencross then you look hard at trading him.

So we're going to trade one of our better all around wingers who kills penalties, scores and is a very good forechecker, overpaid guy that has played himself to the bottom pairing on a bad team.
That's a pretty horrible trade. Most NHL players will give up a first and a good prospect for Glencross.
You're talking about trading in a porche for a pickup truck.

According to Warrener the chances of him waiving his NTC are slim and none.

I don't know much about Coburn, but he was rumoured to be on the block before.
Glencross for Coburn + ?

I get that it is "slim and none" right now, but the flames need to have a big talk with Glencross in the summer. Would hate for him to play out his contract and flames get nothing. Don't think they should re-sign him considering he will be 32 and probably not looking for another discount contract.

Yeah don't think Glencross waives his NTC. The reason that contract is a bargain is because he has that NTC and he really doesn't want to waive it.

So Glencross basically coasting puts up 65 goals and 117 pts the last 3 years.
Clarkson is a Glencross type player who is playing all out all the time get 57 goals and 88 pts.
The reason that people like Clarkson is that he plays with emotion.
Clarkson , one year younger than Glencross just got a 7 year 5.25 contract.
Glencross with this year and next year at 2.5 M is worth more on the market than Iginla AND Bouwmeester.
If Philly wants him it would be for both Schenns (first one a prospect and the older one a salary dump) and their 2014 1st.
Think Regehr and a 2nd for Butler.
They really pouched the pup this summer...
Streit 35 gets 5 years @ 5.25,
They "won" Vinny at age 33 5 years for 4.5,
They locked up Hartnell at age 31 for 6 years at 4.2.
They are paying Giroux 8.25 M for the next 8 years to carry this team . Is Giroux a generational player?.. Cosby , Ovechkin, Chara... Even compared to Doughty he got more money and longer term.
They have their #6 dman Luke Schenn locked up for the next 3 years at 3.6.
This is the core of a team that without winning their last 4 meaningless games would have been as bad as last years Flames.

If the flames are open to trading glen cross, which I hope they are not, then to me they should wait to closer to the deadline.
But what do I know.....

I agree with that. The 960 guys were also implying it might be somewhat disrespectful for the Flames to even approach Glencross about it after he helped us out and signed that huge hometown discount. However, to that I reply "Brian Burke" as he has no emotional or business attachment to any of the players at this point.
I love what Glencross can do when he's on his game. Problem is he's not always on. Further, he can be a liability when he's not. So by all means explore trade options and if the right deal comes along go ahead and ask him about waiving the NTC.

Has Glencross said anything about being in Calgary though a rebuild? Maybe he wants to move?

Am i reading this right? You are saying that Glencross is worth both Schenns and a 1st?
LOL, come back to reality.

I'm pretty sure I remember him saying, or a play-by-play guy (TSN) saying that he wanted to be part of the rebuild.
Honestly, I think hockey is secondary to Glencross (purely my own speculation). I think he likes being in Alberta, near his ranch and his wife's family and wouldn't entertain a trade, ever. When he's a UFA, he'll take another sweetheart deal to stay in Calgary or head up to Edmonton.

I think posters underestimate how much winning means to most players. The bolded part was the same stuff i heard for reasons that Iggy would never leave Calgary.
Also durring the year how much time does he spend on his ranch? I have to think very little.
