It will all depend on people buying or not buying them. I think that the heritage classic jersey was panned here, and I still see people wearing them (and way more people bought them than I thought would buy them).

And as a third jersey, and for a jersey that fans could wear casually to a game and away from a game, not terrible.

Probably my favorite quote from this this thread was the guy who was so mad at the jersey that he prefaced his rant by stating that English isn't his first language, so he may not be able to fully express his frustration. Just awesome!

The heritage classic jersey was ugly in an endearing old-school way. That's a lot different than these, which are just ugly in an unlicensed merchandise kind of way.

At this point in time, I'd say this jersey is in competition for 'Worst Flames jersey yet', battling with the Ronald McDonald jersey for the lead.

My only hope is that the delay in the announcement is due to a last minute change as someone in the organization came to their senses. The idea of a 3rd jersey is to sell more merchandise but I don't see this jersey being a big seller at all.

I was just at Wal-Mart looking at the knock-off Flames jerseys and I can honestly say they look better than this third jersey design.

Meanwhile I'm not sure why teh other poster a couple posts back thinks that because they took away the retro, it means it's more likely to return as the full home / away set. Where's the logic in that? 3rds can be introduced as primaries too, or abandoned, or not, or whatever. So not following that logic whatsoever.

Like I said, I don't like them, but is it really shocking that 80% of us don't like something.

Nobody likes paperless tickets, nobody likes Rob Kerr, nobody likes that our new colour guy isn't an x player, nobody likes the new guys on the fan, nobody liked the old guys on the fan, nobody likes the horse jersey, no one likes the heritage classic jersey, no one likes that they canceled that last hour of Rome.......... If the Flames consulted us on anything, they'd never do anything because they'd paralyzed by fear.

Wow. I saw this the yesterday, but I was hoping it wasn't true. These are horrible.

Don't they do "consumer testing" (not sure what it's called?) to see if people like the jersey or not and how it would poll with fans?

Nah. I think the fact that 80% of people here don't like it says a lot more about the jersey than it does about us. I get that there are a lot of complainers here but 80% is what it is. I liked the horse jersey myself and the only Flames jersey I didn't particularily like is the silly pedestal ones but these 'leaked images' just lack originality for a 3rd jersey. I could live with the "Calgary" but putting the Flaming C under it looks silly with two pronounced 'C's on the crest. Another silly jersey much like the pedestal ones.

Why do they consult 5 year olds when creating third jerseys for this team? First they had the flaming snotball abortion and now this? Ugh. The retro one looked amazing, this one is a bad Chinese knockoff.

I don't actually mind these. Anyone suggesting these are even anywhere near as bad as the Buffalo jerseys needs to take a deep breath. I agree with a few of you folks that the only really bad thing about the jersey is the wordmark, and even that's not terrible. In my opinion, this is the best of the three we have. Although that speaks more to how much I hate the current home/road jerseys.

The biggest positive about these jerseys is that, in my mind, they suggest a change in our primary sweaters might not be far off. I may only be basing that on the new shoulder patch, but I can dream. We are definitely overdue for a change. We were one of the hardest hit by the Reebok edge re-design.

I actually like the striping in comparison to our regular jerseys, if they announced this (but flaming C instead of a wordmark) was replacing our regular jersey design, I'd be fine with it. But considering this is what replaced the retros, that's a huge disappointment. It's so similar to our regular jerseys, they tried to play it way too safe. Unimaginative and boring.

Just so sick of the black helmets/gloves/pants combo, its overkill, was hoping for at least a change with the thirds. Why even release a third that similar to the current ones?

EDIT: And I like the design of the shoulder patch, aside from it being way too high up on the shoulders

That's not what some dude said. He said he downloaded a roster update and the jersey was available. The same thing happened with previous roster updates, unlocking Minnesota and San Jose's jerseys. EA has leaked jerseys before, it's nothing new. Don't kid yourself, it's legitmate.
