Good game undone by a couple of terrible giveaways. I expect we will see Jackman in the next game as McGratton earned himself a night or more in the pressbox with that giveaway and Glencross has to be better as well. The team is skating hard but sooner or later the coaching staff is going to have to address the defensive zone coverage that looks just as bad as it did last year as it will be a long season if this team continues to give up 4 goals on a nightly basis. O'Brien is hot garbage and you can't tell me that there isn't a better defenseman in Abbotsford right now.

I know it's a rebuild, the Flames are going to lose more than I would like. But Hartley's just a terrible coach. He had to see Sedin in the offensive zone and thought "Hey McGrattan should go up against that line." It was a terrible play by McGrattan, but it's McGrattan, he should never be on the ice on purpose against the top line when the team is up by 1. And Butler, like normal, is imploding defensively, so you keep putting him out? Butler wasn't having an off-game and needed to play through it, this is Butler. Hartley gift wrapped the Canucks 2 points in a very winnable game after a great effort by most of the team. I don't see Burke putting up with Hartley long, maybe that's just wishful thinking.

As for the players, most disappointed in Glencross tonight but, all things consider, pretty happy with the actual play - could see the effort.

Glencross and McGrattan just can't make those plays. They pretty much gifted the Canucks the game... ugh.

O'Brien / Butler... ugh.

but hey! we got a point and it was entertaining.

We lost the game because of the vets, not the kids.

If I'm one of the "old guys", I'd start getting worried these kids are actually taking over.

Bone headed plays in our own end cost us the hockey game!

Re: McGrattan

He had 2-3 opportunities to get off the ice and make a change. Was a little slow each time and decided to stay longer. Ultimately made a bad decision instead of keeping it simple so I don't think that's something you can really blame Hartley for.

I know our expectations shouldn't be through the roof, but this one stung, mostly because it's against the Canucks and it was our veterans who made the mistakes. Outplaying the Canucks for majority of the game, then we stop playing for 10 minutes and end up ultimately losing the game.

Would've loved to see us steal 2 points from them but at least it's exciting hockey to watch

When Flames were up 3-1 and starting to run around I told my son Flames lose 4-3 off by one goal.

Plus got a point and great push to tie it up.

Minus the defence is really weak especially in own end. they make the sedins look tough

The effort was there, and a point was salvaged after the collapse in the third period. Those are positives to take from a game that was heading for a win before the lack of depth caught up with us, along with Vancouver's skill.

Proud of the point and the effort. Go Flames Go!

Why in the heck was McGrattan up against the Sedin's while we were protecting the lead. And why in the heck did McGrattan try a cross ice pass when Baertschi was right there on the wall.

Oh ya, Butler sucks. He really does.

That said, overall it was good effort against a better team. It was also an entertaining game.

Entertaining game. The Flames deserved better, but a good effort for a rebuilding team. They have to learn to lose before they learn to win. Sadly, its the veterans that are losing the games with bonehead plays.
