Monahan looks good. Had a couple nice scoring opportunities, and good defensively. He is going to stay up all year if he keeps it up.
So smart.

O'Brien.
Penalty machine waiting to happen.
The play where he standing behind the net as Calgary changes, and then gives his outlet defender a brutal ankle rocket pass to start the breakout...Come on, SOB, the guy is 12 feet away from you and there's not heavy forecheck, just give him a pass he can handle.
Sportsnet feed showed a close up of his 'aww shucks' face as he knew he put too much steam on that pass, and it nearly ended up in the back of the net.
Same old story with that guy. Unprepared, lacks focus, low hockey intelligence.

He is awesome, what are you talking about? He's hilarious! He speaks like he isn't thinking about what he's saying.
Which I think is the best part. He's just kinda... goin'.

Honestly, it's probably a tie. Neither are downright horrid, but together it's a bit of an ugly pairing. I'd probably split them up if I was coaching, they don't complement each other very well.

I started noticing it during the 2001-12 NHL season.

Could you please lock the GDT? Some poor souls are still lost in there.

Yeah, I can't really point out who sucks worse than the other. I figure at least SOB can clear guys out of the crease. Butler just really doesn't do anything.
They should swap Smith in there if he's ready to go for a game.

I think they have more talent than they are given credit for - just need to grow into and get lots of game experience..

I have only been watching the game fora few minutes, and the quality seems piss poor....I think the local telecast for the moose jaw warriors is a step up....
Sent must produce the lowest cost hockey broadcast on any network

In a way, they do compliment each other.
One guy can play in front of the net, one guy can't.
One guy can play away from the front of the net, one guy can't.
Combine them and you get 1 real legitimate NHL defender.
They are like George and Jerry.

I am worried about the goaltending. MacDonald looks shaky.
Dennis Wideman was an unbelievable pick up.

I get the feeling, but I think I'd rather have the two solid puck moving pairings, and tolerate the 3rd pairing as is.

Both a milestone and a scoreless slump broken. All we need is a 1st NHL goal for a Flames hat-trick.

Count my vote as 1 for, "Do not care about the supposed quality of the broadcast as I mute everything but the hockey."
