No it doesn't. Apple only owns 39.9% of the market share in North America. It still trails Android. But i really like your American-style of me-best attitude. Sorry dude but the other parts of the world matter.
Updated with more recent data - tracking for the most part as would be expected (still before the iPhone 5S & 5C release though). Should be interesting to see what effect the new phones will have.
Also references some various reports with some interesting items. Kinda like CP being full of the 1%er's - why worry about slightly behind on market share when that segment is just the poor, uneducated and old people. You're not making money as a business on them anyways!
In August, a report from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners looking at such demographics about smartphone ownership was largely reported as noting that more than twice as many Samsung owners were switching to iPhones rather than moving in the opposite direction.
It was also broadly reported, as Philip Elmer-Dewitt of the Fortune Apple 2.0 wrote, that the data "showed, not surprisingly, that Apple's customers tend to be richer and better educated than Samsung's."
Nearly 70 percent of iPhone users reported earning more than $50,000, while only 55 percent of Samsung's buyers did, and the number of users with a college degree, masters or doctorate were also much more likely to have an iPhone. This kind of data has also shown up in heat maps of users in affluent locations.
On the other hand, Samsung has more middle age users and significantly greater penetration among seniors 55-64, perhaps related to the oversized screens Samsung commonly uses.

So after spending quite a few weeks looking at ALL the phones on the market, I ended up with a Black 32GB 5S.
Have to say that all the phones on the market are amazing. Android (many variations here) Microsoft, and even Blackberry had great features.
In the end though the 5S felt great and given the investment in apps/music/videos I have in the apple ecosystem, it became the frontrunner. I hope that the 64bit operating system gets taken advantage of in the coming months. I'm also surprised at the popularity of the iphone this launch, given all the alternatives.
Quick summary: Liked features on all the smart phones, but 5S still won me over.

Lucky devil. I still haven't got my 5S yet as Rogers told me a week ago it was going to ship and nothing.
I ordered my 32gig black (space grey) 5s from Rogers on Friday the 28th and it arrived 5 days later on the the 2nd. The gold and silver seem to be shipping significantly slower.

My order was for space grey, and 16 GB, so I figured it wouldn't be a problem for them. I got my iPhone 4 16 GB I am currently using 3 years ago in the same method and it was 5 days from phone call to shipment arriving.

I had the same one pre-ordered (telus) but ended up going with the 32gb when they gave me a 200 trade in credit for my 4S.
Seems the 16gb black are not coming in at all.

i personally have android and love it. i will never use an iphone. Androids are tougher, i have dropped my phone countless numbers of times and never cracked or broke it. I have the nexus 4 and believe that androids are much simpler to operate. if you have an android then you dont have to deal with itunes, which is a pain in the ass. Androids have way more options. With apple its either and iphone or iphone, but with android there is many options. I belive that iphones are over priced and people only buy them beucase it is the cool new trend

This is debatable. I've seen some android phones break just as quickly as any other from dropping them. I have a few friends whose android based phones became useless only halfway through their 3 year contract for various reasons. That being said, I've liked what I've seen from the Nexus 4 so far. I now know 6 people with them and they're all very happy with how it has performed...but they've all gotten one in the last 4 months or so.
That's Google's secret sauce - Gorilla Kernel. Since the 4.1 OS update, handsets can survive a fall of up to 10 feet without breaking.
And that was where Apple got (stole!) the idea that they could make the iPhone waterproof with the iOS7 software update.
