You know that big #1 centre we've been looking for for so long, I think we've found him in Monahan. The kid is just so good. Who knows if he lasts the year in Calgary but when this kid hits his stride and peak he's going to be a player. Love Hartly for putting him and Baertschi together, it's great.

And oh... I love Backlund. I love the great two-way game he's developed.

Ya, I know it is early but he looks like he is going to be great. I like that both him and Sven bring different elements and stemps complimented both of them tonight. That line seemed to be buzzing good most of the game.

Sunday night will be a big test. First home game against a major rival, will be interesting to see what happens.

I doubt that we pick in the top 3 in 2014, no way we finish that low if we play this way all season.

Or, go back to the 70 and 80's Euro mesh "curtain" hanging down from the middle of the net.

I thought Galiardi redeemed himself from the last game. I like that the guy drives to the net, and plays hard.

You don't really notice the shallower nets at ice level, but at the top, shots sure come flying out really quickly. On a few of the goals so far, it's hard to tell if the shot hit the crossbar or went under the crossbar and hit the back bar.

I loved this celebration too:

Hard to see the fan getting the Hudler stare, but Galiardi's enthusiasm is awesome.

If we can be above .500 against the Canucks and oilers this year, I don't care if we win another game.

That said, I would love if we won them all 8D

AC, check the Blue Jackets broadcasts highlights on NHL.com, they have a great camera angle of Hudler after that goal. It's a good down low shot from the seats looking at Hudler

“@SUNGilbertson: Get this ... Sean Monahan is just second player in #Flames history to score multiple NHL points before 19th birthday. Dan Quinn the other.”

I realize it is water under the bridge but sure would have been nice to see this enthusiasm 3 years go, about going into a rebuild. Better late than never, but postponing the inevitable always sucks.

Keep going hard Flames . You look motivated, enthusiastic and it is fun again.

I understand. This coming from the poster who always believed that the Flames were always so close to a playoff spot , ergo a Stanley Cup contender.

Flames have been so much fun to watch 2 games in. The speed and effort are certainly there. Feels great to turn the page and have a fresh start. Monahan looks like a winner what a prospect.
