Tanguay gets his 1st point as a member of the Avs since he was traded in 2006.

Man the Ducks are stinking up the joint tonight.

Think Colorado will be better, and have a feeling Anaheim will be much worse.

Paul Maurice [paraphrasing] "Kessel is overpaid. He fails the 'last minute of the game' test. For 8m you need a player who you can count on in every situation. Is he on the ice during the last minute of the game when the team is up a goal? No"
...Paul obviously didn't watch the game tonight?

Yeah, Anaheim is a huge question mark - thought they played way above their heads last year.

You can hardly tell given how little the Altitude guys have talked about him........
I don't think the Avs will be much better. They're really the Oilers in recent years: Lot of offensive talent, mediocre goaltending and junk on defence.
But the Ducks are going to be much worse. I think they significantly overachieved last year.

Obviously it wasn't a coincidence the Hurricanes won a Cup the 2 years he wasn't with them...
Seriously, Kessel scores the tying goal and in the last minute of the game is on the ice when the insurance empty net goal is scored. Not the game to try and insult his contract, especially with such a terrible argument that was completely wrong.
Funny thing is there's 2 other 8M players playing tonight that haven't looked great...

Well, he obviously said that prior to the last minute of the third tonight. Also, it isn't as if Kessel was in a pressure situation with Toronto on the power play.

These Avs announcers are some of the biggest homers i've ever heard.

He's been on the ice in both games where the Leafs were protecting a lead in the last minute so far though.

I'm sure those announcers are the dutch rudder givers to the avs after every game. They are bad.

For the Avs, I think the big thing is the coaching change - they were the worst coached team in the league last year.
Then the addition of MacKinnon - he will provide a tremendous amount of energy.
No question that the defense is suspect.
And goaltending is a question mark, but I think Varlamov will be fine.
I think they are in the mix for the wildcard

Don't forget they have actual leadership this year with Sarich and Tanguay. Say what you want about Tanguay; he is a pouter, but he's a good a leader and mentor.
Who did they have last season in terms of veteran leadership? Hejduk?

Varlamov is underrated. He's developing into a very good goalie.

Coaching is the biggest thing. Sacco was terrible.

I know Avalanche fans don't like them either.
