What a strange take for that radio station to take. I'd be a lot more concerned.

The Nucks are definitely much better in the neutral zone than the Jets. I hope Hall keeps up this play on Saturday.

Tuned into CHED 630 for a laugh. The guys there are saying "the Oilers got more positives out of that game than Winnipeg did". Go on to say 'Winnipeg for a couple gifts' and 'Edm has 60 minutes of tape to examine'. These guys are delusional.
BUT honestly, why not be positive? (Though saying you got more out of the game than Winnipeg is stupid) If Calgary is critical with the team this year, it'll be a frickin' long year. In Vancouver, where I live, the radio personalities are uber-critical of the Canucks. It's good for a laugh (from my perspective) but it's pretty doom and gloom if I were a Canucks fan (despite them being a playoff team each year). So... two points:
1) Oilers radio personalities are delusional and positive
2) On further reflection, I hope Calgary radio personalities don't become too negative this season.

Dubnyk did not look great tonight, and an .821 sv% is not going to get the Oilers very far.
For a team that is supposed to be chock full of talent, they sure played Arobello, Acton and Gordon alot of minutes, not to mention Smitty.
They really miss RNH and Gagner.

See?! I told you guys we should've picked up Grabovski. 4 points! What a statement.
A hot head is good if he can channel it on the ice.

While i have no inside info, my gut tells me that Feaster probably tried to get him. It was never going to happen though. He wanted to stay out east and be on a team that has a chance at the playoffs.

Grabovski wanted the Leafs to see how bad they f'ed up. Any interview he's given since then has made that obvious.

Got home from work to watch the Hawk/Cap game on DVR...
'Hawks Offense got it done...Even Strength D...Pretty good...BUT...I have seen some passive Box PKs...I have NEVER seen an "IMMOBILE BOX"! It was like 4 pylons and no puck pressure vs. Last year's best PP...Crawford had little chance Our guys were stellar in transition, solid on the forecheck, and craptastic in the dot.
Good for Bollig, getting his 1st goal to get a season started.
I still have no idea, and neither does Holtby, according to DC media, how Oduya's weak-a@@ shot got to the back of the net for the GWG.
And in 50 years of watching hockey, I can't recall seeing a ref with the balls to call the automatic goal on the empty net takedown...they usually wimp out and just send the guy to the box.
Happy to see Frolik get a good start with the Jets...he was kind of buried on the 4th line in Chi, but was a good soldier and made himself a valuable piece of the 'Hawk PK. Frolik was key in setting up Bolland's Cup clinching goal last year.
Good luck to your Flames Flame Fans

Woohoo, hockey and the OOT are back!
FYI, the reason the Capitals-Bhawks NBCSN game wasn't on TSN2 is because the CBC has exclusivity on opening night. The good news is that it was on Centre Ice and it is free until Oct. 19.

"Play bad for Ekblad" or "Fall apart for Reinhart"... Easier to rhyme for the oilers this year... But 3 straight years of it should make then good at rhyming if not hockey. Lol. Stupid oilers.

That was a horrible goal, no idea what Holtby was doing there. Maybe he just thought it was going in his glove, but he really whiffed on it. Ugly.

Why wait? Every day is a good day to make fun of the Oilers, and to relish in their ineptitude and failure.

It's not very common but I've seen it called quite a few times.
Can't remember exactly who but a Flames player was awarded a goal within the last couple years due to this rule.

So the Oilers will have Ekblad. In order for a team to fall apart they need to at least have it together in the first place.
