It stands alone, IIRC, it is in the same "world" but is/are seperate storyline(s)

Remember in the first episode; one of the first "walkers" Rick encountered was a woman who was missing half her body. Towards the end of the episode he shoots her in the head, to put her out of her misery.
One of the previous webisodes was her story, and shows how she got to be that way.

I've wondered what would happen if someone died of natural causes and turned inside the prison. I guess now I'll find out.
My guess is D'angelo gets killed. He doesn't last long in prison.

Pretty good first episode.
Wonder what the new disease is, assuming it's airborne and how it will effect the group. Beth's reaction to Zach being dead was cold and I loved it. For some reason I can't get behind the love story of Carol and Darryl, just seems weird.

There is probably a link between the pig and Patrick, and I am guessing it wasn't airborne.

Hooray! Patrick and the other annoying kid are dead. I thought it would take a few episodes to take care of those two new annoying characters, but good to see they're already gone.
Decent, but unspectacular episode. I wonder what direction they are planning on taking this season. I hope it's not like the second season, just instead of the farm they spend all their time in the prison. It makes the show seem somewhat cheap imo.

What a bad start. Rick and crazy lady was totally unnecessary including his reaction when she killed herself? She would have never been brought back to the camp. just odd.

While not the explosive start to Season 3, I enjoyed the episode. Some new characters were introduced and brought along slowly.
Something is up with the medic (Bob?). He's a little creepy. I don't trust him.

Also found it enjoyable. Sets up a lot of plot points that will be explored throughout the season. Also sets up for a more intense second episode.
Missed this watching live, but on Talking Dead they pointed out the line "It's just ahead" when they are approaching the crazy woman's camp. Heh.

I liked the episode also. Several new characters and plotlines were introduced. I enjoyed the raining zombies and was cheering for the guy under the store shelf. There were some good special effects.
