What constitutes a "World Class" Player? An International player?
And they dont have 5 or 6 of them? Rooney, Kagawa, van Persie, Vidic, Fellaini and few other internationals probably arent too pleased with comments like that.
|
A world class player is a player that would start or at least be in the conversation to start, for any team. Manchester United have one absolute world class player in Vidic - I don't believe that there is as good a central defender as him in the world. Robin van Persie is certainly in the mix as one of the top five strikers in the world, but the rest of them I really don't know about. Maybe Wayne Rooney, but that would be about it. He certainly was a world class player about five years ago, but not anymore. Kagawa isn't even getting into the Manchester United side on a regular basis so you can hardly call him world class. Fellaini is not even in the conversation.
If you look at Bayern Munich or Barcelona, they each have five or six players that would be in the conversation to start for any dream team. Barcelona have Messi, Pique, Dani Alves, Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Fabregas and Neymar. Any of those eight players would walk right into Manchester United's starting eleven, wouldn't you agree?

That's kind of what I was getting at. Did you not read my post? The whole point of it was that a world class player is a player that would likely start for any team.

The Zlatan labels Guardiola a Coward. Also, Germany is awesome.
Quote:
"Guardiola is a fantastic coach. But as a human? He is a coward. He is no man," he said.
The Swede alleged that, after Lionel Messi had complained to Guardiola about him because "I scored more goals than him,", he never stood a chance under the Spaniard.brahimovic, one of the top earners in European football, also said he could imagine playing for Bayern at some time in the future -- "but only once Guardiola is gone".
It appears, though, that the door has been closed on any possibility of the Swede joining the Bundesliga champions. Speaking to German tabloid Bild, Bayern president Uli Hoeness said: "I think Ibrahimovic is a sour prima donna and never got over leaving Barcelona.
"No club ever got happy with him. He is a problem bear [a fairly new German saying only introduced to the German language when a brown bear crossed the German border a few years ago and was made a 'Problembar', and finally got shot)."

I remember the "Bruno der Problembär" story quite well, it was pretty big around here a few years ago Bruno was the first brown bear in our area for more than 150 years or something ... he was simply known as "JJ1" until someone named him Bruno, no idea why after coming from Italy, he constantly crossed the border between Austria and Germany, until someone shot him in Bavaria. Now he's in a museum. RIP Bruno
nothing to do with the CL, but who cares

I didn't realize Dortmund is so injured at the moment. Starting RB/LB/CDM are all injured. They are still able to field a strong unit, but their depth is non existent at the moment.

This is still the problem with Dortmund. I dont know what their game plan is. They're definitely going for it in the Bundesliga, but then how can they field a strong team in the CL? They still dont have a deep enough squad for both.

Not to mention Weidenfeller is suspended in the CL. When they're healthy they can likely challenge for both, but they don't appear to have the depth to do so when injuries hit. They need some more depth on the backend.

Thats the thing, no team can go through 2 competitions completely healthy, you need that depth and depth costs money. Dortmund have money, I just dont know why they arent spending it. They're a great team.
Dortmunds' healthy starting XI will go toe-to-toe with any team in the world, but they're just asking too much of their players right now and they dont have to so I dont know why they're doing it.

Scott Brown is a dirty player, he cost his team tonight and should be ashamed of himself. If you're going to risk a red card, go right through a player and take him off the pitch with you, don't try to get away with a cheap little kick behind the referee's back. I hate players who do things like that.

Already 1-0 Bayern.
Bayern taking it easy on City, no Mandzukic or Gotze.
