Pretty much means Monahan won't be staying here long.

I really don't like this trade. Colborne now has to stay up in the NHL, or we lose him on waivers.

Everyone saw this coming. Happy it was only a 4th. Hopefully Colborne finds his game.

So, we've traded a 4th for Knight, Galiardi, and now Colborne?

Our 4th is our new 2nd.

Good gamble. Burke must really like Colborne, involved in trading for him twice now.

Trade all of the 4ths.

I'll wait and see how this turns out. Not bad at first glance.

I like the trade. More size down the middle. Swapping a 4th for a former 16th overall pick. And another local.

Former first rounder, 6'5, Calgary born, decent AHL numbers, more center depth, allows Monahan to stay in the minors for another season.

Worth a shot at least. Was Weisbrod still with the Bruins in 2008 when he was taken 16th overall?

Second in scoring with the Marlies last season, not too shabby.

McKenzie says he can only play in the top 6. What does this mean for Backlund and Stajan, who are far superior players to Colborne (I'd also say Monahan is a lot better right now as well)?

Good bye Stajan?

Well that's exciting. And a steal. He had a good game tonight. Noticed him almost every time he was on the ice. Also a good investment for when Stajan is moved/not re signed. This is good, absolutely loaded with centers under 25 now. At least management is trying to address the center issue.

I wonder now what else they have planned.

6'5" 219 lbs. We may lose a lot, but we're going to punish some teams.

Also didn't Boston draft him? And he was playing for a university In the states and wasnt Wisbroid in charge of College and university scouting for the bruins?

They both (Burke and John) must like him. 6 foot 5 is big

Colborne has seemed destined to be a Flame since his draft day, when the Flames were apparently very high on him.

I like this move a lot; he's NHL ready and wants to play here. Might bump Horak onto the wing. Gives the team flexibility if they decide they want to send Monahan back to junior. What we have learned in recent years is that you can never have enough centres, especially those with size.
