I'd also like to invite everyone who claims that all of these songs are "terrible" choices to come forth and present your idea for a goal track. Let's see what kind of superior choices you can offer. We've already gone through months of suggestions here, and 3 of our most popular choices ended up being finalists. But I'd like to see/hear what these individuals that none of these songs can satisfy have in mind? I'm actually quite curious.
While thinking this through though, I think you'll come to realize that while the bands/music that is represented by the finalists may not be your cup of tea, finding a suitable candidate for a goal song is actually very difficult. And often your favorite/preferred music and goal song material do not overlap. So perhaps you'll come to better appreciate the tracks that the majority of people voted in for this purpose.

Well thank goodness. Would hate for you to actually vote and choose the weakest option of the bunch.
He didn't say he would have voted for The Dudes song. He actually, if voting, would have gone with the best option.
I agree that it is tough to find a good fit and this has shown but as someone else mentioned Shot Down in Flames was a great choice and there was no reason to change that song. That is one that easily beats all the options here.
Using "Chelsea Dagger" as an example again, I wonder how many Hawks fan initially thought it was a good goal song compare to those that thought an alternative should've been chosen. Some may not like the song now, but over time, especially if Flames have a playoff run which could make the whole fanbase embrace the goal song, it could be appreciated as a Flames anthem; along with Ring of Fire and Spitfire. (If they're still keeping that)
I think for some in this thread, the objective was to find our own "Chelsea Dagger", or at least something that when you hear it wherever you are, you think of the Flames.
Kinda slim pickin's... I don't mind any of them as far as the songs, but they don't really work as goals songs, RATM or Righteous Smoke would be my choice.
Still, don't know why, but Disco Inferno is my favorite. Sounded good at the 'dome, and on TV.
Not going to get too bent out of shape over the winner, just want to hear it a lot.

Now that I've heard them again in context, I'd have to agree that none really work. Monster Truck might be the best of a meh bunch. RATM is too messy, that last song doesn't make any sense, and Fall Out Boy is.....Fall Out Boy.
^Disco Inferno in retrospect wasn't terrible.

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER. I love power.
I think a catchy tune/chorus is all we need for a goal song.
For example "Light Em Up" starting from the 2:00 mark to the 2:15 mark and repeated for a while wouldn't be too bad IMO while everyone is clapping to the beat. You don't need to know the lyrics, easy to clap your hands to the beat, and has a very celebratory feel.
The Fallout Boy song would sound really dated in a few months as to me it's one of those songs that will be popular for a bit but in 20 years no one will remember it. Honestly all 4 options seriously suck. Big time. The RATM song that seems really popular here failed to live up to expectations. Righteous Smoke I guess is my "favourite" but I still don't think it's a good goal song. Why must we limit the options to songs about fire...... I know it makes sense but it eliminates so many good songs.
I figure this would be as good a place to ask as any.
Does anyone know what the name of the maritime type song is they play at the saddledome every now and again? It has no words, i can't sing it to you and i couldn't even tell you what instrument they use.
Bobby Morgenstein does the best (IMHO) instrumental version. Dropkick isn't instrumental.
