Some people said it was a steep price, which it totally would be if they didn't get revenue from concerts. Then a couple of people clarified the sweetheart deal, then everyone agreed it was a good price.

So if the CDN $ we down to 67cents you wouldn't support the Flames getting revenue sharing because the owners are making too much money with their Oil companies? Crazy!

I don't see why other teams who are in hockey towns and work up a good solid fan base have to pay for teams who lose money year after year after, they are a drain on the league.

Not exactly. Canadian teams were already sending more money per team, to the States in national TV revenue sharing than the Flames, Oilers or Senators got in any revenue sharing.

Because the owners whose money it is have decided that it works better for them to give money to those teams than to move them to other places.

Looking at their attendance records I don't see a huge difference from those of the Flames attendance records during our dark era. Maybe a couple thousand but let's not act all high and mighty when we were in danger of losing our team in Canada because we as fans wouldn't pay for a crappy product.

Once Florida starts winning I think they will attract more fans and I believe that is the key in a lot of markets.

How about this: they (the owners) sell the ice hockey team to an owner who moves them to an ice hockey city. They (the owners) replace aforementioned ice hockey team with an NBA team.

Sign a few big names and the fans down there will gobble that #### up like ice cream on a common Southern Floridian day.

The Heat drew an average of 5000 less than capacity from 1989 - 2004. It was only when they started to put together winning teams that they started selling out. Sure they have a dynasty style team now and it seems the city would eat up a second team, but if they were barely supporting 1 non championship team, why do you think a second team would succeed?

I'm not against helping any team through a bad patch, just think the correct system is wrong. In southern states in the US hockey can be away down the list on people's choice of sports, you have MLB, MBA, NFL, UFC, NASCAR and maybe even MLS in some case. I just believe that instead of continuing to throw money at these teams year after year with no return the league would be better charging every team a fee every year and if I team hits a bad patch then lend that team the money it needs for say 2 or 3 seasons and let it be known that after that period of time the team either starts to make a profit and payback the money or face being relocated or shutdown!
