Jay Z is going to be a very successful sports agent just based on this one contract.

One thing the people fail to realize this thing has been boiling for 3 years between Gomez and Maholm, it just didn't start in June. It started in 2010 when Maholm was with the Pirates, Gomez hit a gigantic homer of him in Milwaukee in April, which pissed off Maholm because when he next pitched against the Brewers (in July of that year), he straight-up nailed Gomez, and it was neither an isolated incident nor accident, as Gomez was only one of 3 Brewer hitters to taste the wrath of Maholm that day. He pitched 7 innings of 3-hit ball while walking only 2, so it's not like he was having control issues, or anything.

It is also interesting to note that one of the other guys who got drilled was Hart who had homered off Maholm in the first inning that night in 2010, those haven't done anything stupid with facing each other since. Fast forward to June of this year, Maholm hits Gomez yet another time, leading to the events of last night. Coincidence for what happened in Atlanta last night? I don't think so. Gomez sure did like act like a jackass though.

Anyway just disgusting how awful the Braves have played against clubs that are barely 500 clubs the last two weeks. They are either barely losing to them because they can't hit or they barely win against bad bullpens.

There may be a drag on salaries if regional cable subscribers don't have to prop up sports networks they don't watch.

As noted above, the Astros get $80 M per year local tv revenues for games no one watches. If there is ever a reform to cable packages, there we will be a big drop in revenues.

The Dodgers will offer Cano 10 years and $600 million. I mean after ARod and Pujols I imagine no team is actually stupid enough to give a 30+ year old a 10 year deal right?

Baseball has thrived despite Selig, not because of him.
Baseball is a game where literally everything is measurable and personnel like Billy Beane found a way to exploit mathematical algarythems.

His handling of PEDs was horrific, the all star game fiascos (the tie and home field advantage to the winner). Jeffrey Loria having free reign. Bettman refused to deal with Bascillie meanwhile Selig is in bed with baseball counterpart Loria.

I could write an essay. Alas I'll stop here and will have a drink to celebrate come January 2015!

Well the rays have been choking big time and lost 2 to the jays. Al wild card will come down to the final day! Cleveland guaranteed at least a playoff. I am hoping for a 3 way tie since it would be hilarious

I actually watched a Mariners win today!
I did see someone in a Flames sweater at the game, so if that was someone on CP, howdy!

I'm totally rooting for the Jays today!
Darvish on the mound for the Rangers. Soto behind the plate, I'd prefer Perzynski but we'll see. Exciting times in the AL.

Rays win! They will force at least a playoff for the wild card game. Almost blowing a 7-0 lead but held on 7-6.
Cleveland currently up 5-1 looking like they will cruise to a win and Texas and angels tied at 2-2.

 Cleveland won and Texas won

Rays vs Texas tomorrow 6 pm mt time winner plays Cleveland on Wednesday for wild card playoff
