Voted on by coaches and GMs and what not. Not TSN IIRC.

Yeah, some people weren't watching hockey last season where Suter was obviously better than Weber.

I think Weber is a good player but he's soon to join Rick Nash on the all-overrated team.

Tavares continues to be under rated IMO. No idea how he can be behind Spezza. I also think Ovechkin should be #3-5, ahead of Malkin.

Huh? Tavares is #13 and Spezza is #38 on the list.

You want to know why he's behind Spezza? It's because you can't read apparently!

.... I thought Tavares was rated pretty high. 13th in the league is nothing to huff about.

Would we have a player in the top 75?

Or even 100?

I would think Cammi would at least fall in the top 100, if not 75, hard to say about anyone else.

I got him mixed up with Zetterberg for some reason. Was watching it in a restaurant. My point stays the same.

Will TSN favorites like Kessel and Hall make the top 20? Perhaps even the top 10? Kadri in the top 50?

We all know who number one is, but who is number two? Ovechkin, Malkin, Toews, or perhaps Datsyuk?

Top goalie? It will probably be Lundqvist or Quick, but I think Rask and Niemi could also be in that conversation based of their play last season.

Then for defensemen, will there be a Subban bias with all the media buzz surrounding him last year? He shouldn't finish in the top five defenders (Suter, Weber, Chara, Kieth, Doughty, and Pietrangelo are all better), but what will TSN say?

Oh and after missing out on the ESPN list will Bobby Ryan crack the top 50 at all? Probably not, but wouldn't be shocked if he did.
Huh? The guy is 4th in NHl scoring the past two years with Bozak centering him and he barely cracks their top 50. They constantly underrate him.

TSN didn't decide on the list.

In fact, the general managers and coaches did.
If that isn't telling, I'm not sure what else could be. Many references were made to him being durable but soft, and more of a perimeter player.
Can't argue that.

If you modify the criteria of the list to something like Top 75 NHL players playing in a province where the sales tax rate is below 3.0% - then we would likely place a few guys on it.......

This year's list is actually better than the usual TSN ones, if only because they weren't stupid enough to rank Eberle in the top 25 (or at all for that matter). But it continues the trend of overrating the players whose teams made it deep into the previous postseason or two, and underrating the Western players whose teams didn't. They say 14 coaches and GM's were polled; I'd like to know how many from each division.

Kreijci, Kessel and Hall are the most underrated players, Bergeron and Chara probably the most overrated (though Carey Price at 51 is certainly in the running).

What do you mean continues to??

I can't recall a time when Tavares has ever been underrated. He was hyped as the next Crosby predraft and its continued on ever since.
