Twitter is having a field day with the one red arm band on the black jersey

With the Olympics being in Russia, why did they not go with the 1972 Summit Series jerseys?

It's really not a tough fix.

EDIT: Waaaaait a second. That black jersey. Is the red armband detail only on one arm like the other two jerseys? Because...
Spoiler!
Well if there's anything that will get the Russians riled up, it's something that looks like an SS uniform I guess.

Yeah it seems weird that there wasn't at least one member of the design process, even the summer student kid in the back of the room, who chimed in with the Nazi comparable. Pretty big oversight.

I know, what the hell were they thinking?

First thing that popped into my head was "is that a Nazi armband? That cant be right...."

Seriously, I saw 'Nazi Armband' before I even realized that I hate that clear plastic crap, what is up with that crap? Why is it being put on jerseys all the time now?

That's gonna be awkward when someone scores and raises one arm.

I didn't even think of that until it's been acknowledged. I don't think that's what they were going for though. It's obvious they're not paying tribute to the Nazis as there's no swastika sysmbol. Also the trim is gold and not black. This is making an issue out of nothing.

I don't understand the hate this jersey is generating. It's certainly nothing special, but to call it the ugliest jersey ever seen seems extreme.
I personally think they look okay...I like the minimalistic, asymmetric design. I would prefer them without the iron on laces and shoulder patches, but they're not that noticeable, so whatever.

Canada's Olympic/Paralympic gold medals in hockey.

The one on top is for the Sledge Hockey team's gold in 2006. The three in the middle are for the Women's team's wins in 2002, 2006, and 2010. The eight on the bottom are for the Men's team's wins in 1920, 1924, 1928, 1932, 1948, 1952, 2002, and 2010.

Well, Congratulations Hockey Canada. You approved something that somehow out-sucks the American jerseys.

Dollars that I will spend on any of them: $0.

They look so plain, outside the black one, but even then, for a national jersey, black shouldn't be the one to turn to. The plasticy stars on the shoulder are such a terrible idea. Who approves such stupid concepts anyway?

The thing I really dislike is the neck, hockey Jessie's are supposed to have v-necks. Get rid of that dumb detailing and put on a vneck with some contrasting color and at least the pig has some lipstick on it.......

yeah these may just be worse than the Americans, which was honestly hard to do. Whoever designed these needs to find a different career maybe.

You mean that country that was invaded, occupied and the site of some of Germany's worst atrocities and STILL has its best national soccer players defecting to Germany?

I'm sure they'll be right upset.
