At least with McGrattan he can be effective when he gets his limited ice time. I don't even think that McIntyre is all that fearsome of a fighter anymore.

But if the Vancouver Canucks and Oilers want to get into some kind of super hyper-energetic sh%t-show then I'm all for it.

Another no-brainer decision by MacT?

Well, it certainly wasn't a planned-in-advance one, and now, almost too little too late as the damage has been done.

For all the moaning/groaning, being appaled and wishing by some that it would go away, the fact is, fighting and intimidation of fighting still holds a section of this league. The responses from the players (both in this incident and the TO/BUF fight issues (which are mild when you look at 80's fights)), makes it clear that its very much top of the mind when ####e hit the fan, even though its not PC to be discussed as openly any more.

Very surprised the Oilers didn't have a guy like this in preseason...IIRC each season under McT when he was coach they had a few different mouth breathers in training camp and at least one would make the full time roster, in addition to Stortini.

I was hoping that troll MacIntyre was out of our hair for good. Grats go give him a steady diet of rights to smarten him up if he goes after our young guys.
At least McGrattan can play hockey. MacIntyre is just a big goon.
I have no problem with Mactavish getting a protector for his team but just don't have him run small players.
I recall MacIntyre having a few shifts in 2010 vs the Flames in where he was just taking runs at everyone along the glass stick in cross check position but just missing because his skating is so piss poor.
Flames fans mark the Calgary McGrattan vs McIntyre should be epic if they start trading shots.

Not a fan, but I hope he messes Kassian up. At least the NHL won't fine me for that like they will with Eager.

I'll give it 10 games before Torterella is all over Kassian for his effort.

And if I recall Prust had to take him on, and did okay

He did. Macintyre finished a hard check on boyd and prust dove right in and hung in there against him. I'd have to say that the only reason macintyre won the fight was because he was bigger and could keep prust away, he didn't really land any damaging punches on prust.

Only way this is worth it is if Macintyre gets a hold of Kassian and punches his head off his shoulders. Otherwise this is just a waste of a roster spot.

I hope so. Doesn't matter, the Canucks will eventually realize they traded away a good young centre for the second coming of Chris Dingman.

So the Oilers have dropped the "Success Through Failure" motto and it is now "Moving Forward by Going Backwards".

Bob McKenzie@TSNBobMcKenzie1m
VAN's Zack Kassian gets 5 regular season games and rest of pre-season for highsticking Gagner.

Bob McKenzie@TSNBobMcKenzie3m
Hearing VAN's Weise suspended for balance of pre-season for hit on EDM's Taylor Hall. Awaiting announcement from NHL.

That's their attempt at an enforcer?

Kassian did decent against Eager in a tilt from what I recall. Canucks should pull Godard out of retirement to answer Mac.

I'd hardly call it an "attempt" at getting an enforcer.

Smackintyre is still one of the top 5 or 10 enforcers in the world.

Yes, I'm sure Kassian won't be thinking about it at all before their first game against each other.

Wasn't Prust out with broken ribs after that game?

MacIntyre vs McGrattan would be a hell of a scrap.
