Since when does popularity determine quality?

Does McDonald's have the best food in the world, then?

Tropp got kayoed in an earlier fight Of note, this brawl happened before the puck dropped for the next faceoff. Argues that Buffalo's coach sent Scott after Kessel deliberately.

Game was in TO, so Carlyle had last change. Interesting that he'd throw Kessel out against that line in a preseason game.

Scott is a moron. Type of player i would gladly have nonexistent in the NHL. Don't really have a problem with the first couple of slashes that Kessel gave him. What else was he suppose to do? Going back for the spear should get him some games. That was pretty classless. Auto 10 games for Clarkson.

I guess Bernier did not like getting labelled "soft" for leaving the other night with a skin irritation. Was a pretty good fight by him.

I'd like to get back to reading about a barbaric line brawl, not an internet pissing match about a sport most hockey fans agree only was watchable when Anna Kournikova played - can you take it to a thread in the Other Sports sub-forum

Not slash him?

I mean, being labelled a turtler sucks and all but we would probably be pretty lenient given the circumstances. But has to be a whole better than running around the ice slashing Scott. And then coming back for more when he's behind a linesmen?

Scott idiot, Kessel idiot, Clarkson idiot. My view at least.

Hall got nothing for his two hand slash last year, so I suspect nothing will happen to Kessel.

I get your point but it sounds a little silly debating which is better in a Flames forum, plus it's slightly...completely off topic?

Personally I think Kessel should get at least 3 or 4 games as a deterrent to the stick swinging. Clarkson will probably get 10.

A person can't like both? You make CP sound like a bunch of meat-head frat boys.

Okay guys, the poster "Girlysports" has a dedicated tennis thread in the Other Sports forum for discussion. This is the hockey forum.

http://forum.calgarypuck.com/showthread.php?t=123073

Yep, there it is. Girlysports started it for people to discuss the current season. So if you just go join Girlysports there, and leave the hockey for the hockey fans. Please and thanks.

Of the many options he had, backing away and letting a teammate come in to defend him was his best decision. The first slash was unnecessary, but could possibly be overlooked under the circumstances. The second - from behind after Scott was already engaged with another player - was pure cowardice. The "spear", weak as it was, only compounds it.

Kessel should get a suspension for sure. The two handers were ridiculous.

I wonder what he thinks when he watches himself after all this? Would be interesting to know if he thinks what he did was justifiable.

2 games for Kessel and 10 for clarkson.

Does the suspension start in the regular season or pre-season?

Personally, I don't have a problem with Kessel's slashes, doubt he would hurt him slashing his shin guards.

Took a lot of ball for Kessel to be swinging away as he's desperately trying to skate out of the fracas as quickly as possible.

He's such a tool. He and the Leafs belong together.

And nice to see the saviour Clarkson pull such an idiotic stunt. Only cost him about $650,000 in salary.

You shouldn't have brought tennis up in the first place. Next time don't think you're so clever.

According to TSN and HNIC's talking heads on Twitter, all games in the regular season.

Don't think Kessel will get anything, unless they start suspending for being a gutless punk. That spear was very Canuckish.

And what's Miller doing? He could end up being the next DiPietro.

As for tennis, there isn't enough to it. Just serves and rallies. It gets too repetitive, so I only watch the finals or semis of a major tournament.
