i would just like to add that many people implied the response was from a vocal minority. in my experience having lived in 3 very different areas of the states, this is not the case. obviously, my life experience still requires drawing generalizations. but with how large of a population we deal with these days, that's inevitable.

Reference to this person's ethnicity seems rather superfluous though when none of us could use her ethnicity to identify her (so that we would understand that this particular person was unattractive.) Its hard not to conclude that undercover brother was therefore relying on her ethnicity alone, and the stereotypes associated with it, to communicate that this particular person was unattractive.

This is based on your extensive knowledge about me and my views?
If I wanted to be contrarian or go against the consensus even if it was against my actual views I would say that the people are right in opposing the win because she is from India. Instead I made a comment about her looks which was far from being a popular/unpopular view at the time since barely anyone else had commented on it.
