Admit it - How many of you read the Flames snippet in Hartley's voice with the accent. I sure did.

Certainly the best choice but not sure if it was the right one. Would have also gone with 3 A's instead but if Gio is able to pickup his play to a standard we've seen him at on top of the new responsibilities then I have no issues.

Well, it was a better post than posting Lambert's tweet, or whining about Lambert's tweet. The guy is a troll, he was fishing for a reaction and you guys took the bait.

Everyone who called him a savior almost a decade ago - you are right!

No surprise here but i kinda thought they would leave the captaincy vacant for a while seeing who the last captain was. Anyhow, congrats to Gio.

That has zero to do with my question. Thanks for literally nothing.

I can't say for sure, but maybe the poster was referring to the fact that Simpson went undrafted and became the Flames captain as well; also as a defenseman.

I still absolutely love the "flaming A" for the alternate captains.

Looks cool and I like how the organization is not afraid to pay homage to where they came from.

Don't really think there was a better option out there. I'm interested to see if he leads by example and ups his game

I think also that he is the next captain after a legendary Flame left.

I caught some of his interview on the fan, this afternoon. Enjoyed listening to his thought process during bantam/midget.

Nice comment about the new captain from the guy who will likely take over one day wearing the C

The most logical choice for captain. Congrats Gio!

I hope he can regain the form he displayed before he injured his hamstring(?) 2 years ago.

I also think Cammalleri and Glencross as alternates was a good choice.

What did people expect him to say "Crappy choice, he took my juice box during after fitness testing".

Does this have anything to do with Iginla's pencils?

Expected and definitely the right move. Gio primed for a bounce back season. (If you can really call it that. He was still pretty good last year.)

Hartley always sounds like he's giving a speech at a bachelor party.

Lets' hope he has a great season this year. He seemed a little checked out last year, but congrats. Alternates are good choices for the young guys. I think Glencross has a good work ethic and toughness about him.
