Someone needs to send Sieloff one if he promises to wear it at the rookie camp this summer.

Gaudreau's C Pat Mulane graduated... his RW Steven Whitney signed with the Ducks. BC also lost its starting goaltender, Parker Milner who signed with the Isles.
You will probably see Arnold center Gaudreau this season. Kevin Hayes (Chicago 2010 1st round pick, 24th overall) will likely be his RW.
BC had some of their 2013 commitments drafted as well:
Ian McCoshen D - 31st overall - Florida
Steve Santini D - 42nd overall - New Jersey
Ryan Fitzgerald C - 120th overall - Boston
Some significant upgrades on defense by Boston College with McCoshen and Santini joining the program.

They will also have a new starting goaltender as Milner signed with the Isles.
2014 draft eligible Thatcher Demko is the new recruit between the pipes but I am unsure if he will be joining BC in 2013 or 2014. Otherwise Brian Billet with a total of 10 games under his belt as a Freshman & Sophomore looks to be the favorite

Take that with a grain of salt. Sites around the internet have listed him anywhere between 5'4" and 5'8" tall and 120lbs and 165lbs.
I have no doubt he's packed on a few pounds over the summer, but at his age, I find it hard to believe that he has added on an inch or two. Not saying it isn't possible, just not likely.

Yes but sites around the internet are not the official BC website, stating official players playing weights and heights. Now those numbers may be fudged a bit, but itll definitely be considered the best source outside of measuring the kid yourself.
And yeah for a 5'6 17 year old kid to grow two inches in 2 years isn't really all that odd.

Gaudreau has legitimately grown about 2 inches and gained around 25 pounds since the draft.

He still looked like a boy when he was drafted. It's not hard to believe he wasn't done growing.

He no longer looks like a 12 year old, more like a 14 year old.

Take this official site with a grain of salt - there is different information scattered around the internet.
That made me laugh.
(not an attack on you - just a funny post)
Back to the thread... 5'8" 160 lbs is small, but it isn't 'you have a massive hill to climb, small' like his draft-time stats were.

Gaudreau was listed at 5'9'' and 150 pounds on the Dubuque Fighting Saints website, his team at the time, prior to the draft. There was absolutely no way he was over 5'6'' at the time so taking the "official" height from the team's website with a grain of salt is definitely advised. However, I think it's probably close enough now.

Preview of Boston College
http://www.bceagles.com/sports/m-hoc...091913aab.html
Quote:
"Johnny Gaudreau is as good a player as anyone in the country. He has had a fabulous career at Boston College at this juncture. Johnny is getting better and better. He is getting stronger he is getting more comfortable at this level. We expect him to be a real difference maker every time he is on the ice. He is a special, unique player."

Bill Arnold named assistant captain
Quote:
Senior alternate captain Bill Arnold looks to creep into the BC career record books as the local product out of Needham, Mass., is just nine points away from the 100-point plateau. The Calgary draft pick finished fourth on the club last season in scoring with 35 points (17-18-35) and will be a key contributor in the offensive zone.

What do you guys think would be a good playing weight for him in the NHL? Assuming he is actually 5'8" now?

If he was 5"8, I would say if he could get up to 175-180 pounds he would be pretty solid.

Gaudreau will never be 180. St. Louis isn't even 180.
I think if he's around 163-165 come his first NHL game, he'll be fine.
As he matures, he'll gain the weight. But right now, few players in the NHL can match his agility. He can't put on weight too fast, or he'll lose that advantage.

Just for the record, St. Louis is listed as 5'8" and 180 lbs.
I think that should be the long term goal for Gaudreau but I think he'd be fine around 165 or 170 to enter the league.
