I can understand most of these rules, however can someone please explain to me the jersey tuck rule? Stupidest rule in sports.

^They want their players to stop looking like clowns.
You get guys with jersey tucks, mirrored visors, white skates, gloves with stupid patterns and it starts turning into an NBA game out there.

I'd guess they're probably going to start putting advertisements on jerseys like the KHL and they want the advertisements to be visible.

I agree with Displaced Flames fan's post on the first page. Get rid of shoot-outs if there are so many issues with it. I'd love to see double/triple OT games during the regular season.

I just don't get what is so horrible about a tie.
But I get it. Shootouts are about entertainment.

Or we don't want them looking like thugs because we all know all NBA players are only part time basketball players and full time gang bangers.

I don't understand the reference, can you please clarify which of the following you're attempting to infer:
If Ovechkin continues to tuck his jersey -
1. Everyone goes through a growth spurt to over 6'6
2. The puck will suddenly be filled with air, and hand passing will be allowed
3. They will raise the net 8 feet off the ground
4. The ratio of Caucasian to minority players will completely reverse itself
5. Lebron will put on skates
Interesting. I'm not sure which of those you are supposing might happen if player are allowed to be original, but I'd be curious to know!

It's 6. The game is now full of prima donna show offs with no heart where any type of physical contact results in a game ejection.

So everyone who bitches about shootouts still being around and wants them to be removed every time they're discussed knows they're not going away -- and in the unlikely event they do, knows there will not be double and triple OT regular season games, right? I mean, these people have some semblance of a slight grip on reality, right? Maybe?

As long as it isn't the All Business Tie, I'm fine with that.

Don't see the big deal about jersey tucks. It gives certain players in the league more personality, which is something NHL players these days generally lack. I couldn't picture Theo Fleury without his tuck.

I am just thinking, with the NHL banning the jersey tuck, are they going to start putting sponsor logos at the bottom of the back of the jersey, like below the numbers? Maybe it will come in the next year or two

Yeah stupid but the NHL is probably trying to protect themselves from future lawsuits over concussions. This way the NHL can say the players are responsible for their own injuries.
