Actually what happend to me was when I turned on the game yesterday, it forced me to play the mission that unlocks Mike. When the game loaded Franklin was dressed differently and wasn't at his house which is where I saved the game. I think it did start locked, I took Franklin to the golf course but nothing happened so I just stole a golf cart and went for a joy ride. I didn't try tennis though.

Oh man I gotta get this game ASAP. I've always been big time into the GTA series.

You guys have any advice on whether or not I should get it for the PS3 or Xbox 360? Any extra missions or bonus' from one system to the other? I'd prefer to get on the 360 because of my current set up but that could be changed.

For Xbox make sure your HD has at least 8GB of space, or you won't be able to do the install of disc 1.

Haha or the golf course is racist

Yeah for the golf course it asks you if you want to play when you're infront of the club house. It's $100.

I also modified a car for the first time before they get you to do it in a mission. I spent all of my money. They actually have a decent amount of mods but they're progressively unlocked.

Really? How far are you with Franklin?
Like I said earlier, the game forced me to do the mission that unlocks Mike after I finished the Chop mission and turned off the game.

When you're not using a character they'll live their life like normal, so when you swap back they could be doing anything. I've switched back to Michael as he's getting home from a bike ride with his son, Franklin getting some weed, and Trevor tossing a member of the Lost over the edge of a bridge lol

what's the "chop" mission? I have chop, I took him for a walk, threw the ball, and that's about it.

I've done a few street races, like 4 tow jobs, but seem to just drive around getting board doing nothing. I call Franks buddy and go to a strip club hoping that something would happen but to no avail

I think I might just buy the guide book and figure it out.

I played GTA4 but never really "played" it. Just went around killing people and stealing cars. So I actually want to "play" this one and it's not working lol

Switch characters, drive to locations on the map marked for each guy.

You're doing random missions that don't progress the game, you need to do the main missions to progress the story

The story missions should be labelled with a letter, since you're Franklin it'll be green. It should be an F or maybe an L for if its with Lamar or whatever his name is

I cant switch Characters yet.

I got Chop too and it seems to not allow you to do the next Simeon mission for Franklin, thus you can't advance the game.

I can call Simeon but he doesn't answer and his shop is closed

Have you tried the front of the shop, not the back?

I had no issues so I'm not sure if its a bug or there's just something you're missing

That's weird. How it worked for me was:

- Did the mission where you try and kidnap a guy and you use chop to chase him down.

- Did a mission where you repo a car from Mikes house. That's how you meet him. I'm pretty sure I got a phone call to do this mission. Like I don't think I had a choice.

After you meet mike you don't work for simeon anymore hell call you and he will say he's ruined then you will hear on the radio that he is being investigated.

They haven't met Mike yet, they're not getting the mission from Simeon where Mikes introduced

The Simeon mission starts with a phone call I'm pretty sure, so check if your smartphone is set to silent mode. In silent mode you wont receive any story related calls or messages.

So set your phones to normal mode and hopefully that fixes it
