Has Begin even got into a game? I can't recall. And actually I actually forgot all about him till I saw his name.

Interesting to see Kanzig still with the team.

I saw someone say in another thread that Cundari has to go through waivers to be sent down. Is that accurate? I personally would rather have Cundari than Kris Russell. I have to wonder how much Cundari's 2-way contract played into the decision.

Despite Poirier's play so far, I understand the decision. It doesn't mean that they weren't happy with him, but if they knew that they weren't going to rush him in this season, it makes sense to get him back with the team he will be playin with this year.

I was hoping Broissoit would steal a job this camp, but not to be I guess.

Cundari going down early is sending a message - a strong one. I think he'll be back up. Second organization may be his last shot.

I like the idea of keeping Kanzig around for the reason that he seems to be a fairly intelligent fellow. If he is as smart as he appears - and the team makes him out to be - then the more he can observe what it takes to be a pro, the more likely he can internalize what he needs to do for his own game. With a low risk, high reward project like him, I think it's well worth it for every day we can keep him. Even if we tell him he is going back and do not send him down until the last day in camp, I do it.

The only surprise is Cundari, didn't watch the games he was in so don't know if he sucked or not.

Plus Billins stays but Cundari is sent down? Not sure about that.

I wonder if they are just keeping Kanzig around for medical reasons... i'm sure he'd end up with better treatment in Calgary then back in juniors.

Isn't Begin injured? I thought I read that.

Kind of surprised how many Cs they kept up...

Backlund, Stajan, Galiardi, Monahan, Knight, Reinhart, Horak, Jooris, Granlund, Street, BJones and Begin

Going to be at bit thin at C in Abby for their game this weekend

Do the vets among this group get exposed to waivers immediately or is it delayed?

I wonder if the injured players who are destined for AHL can not be ressigned?

i.e. Chris Breen (Shoulder Injury) & Seiloff (Broken Cheek Bone)

As Eric Roy and Morgan Klimchuck both were returned to Junior and are both injured

Barring a roster devastated by injury, I can't see Byron ever playing another game with the Flames.

Surprised about Poirier and Cundari. Hanowski I thought would also stay a little longer.

I thought Poirier would get a bit of a longer look with how well he has been playing.

Smith was always ahead of him. But yeah I thought he'd be one of the last D cut.

Wow Cundari already cut. He never played in a game that was streamed but he must have been awful, considering i saw Billins he looked bad.

Begin? Give me a break

Don't mind that they sent Poirier back to JR's because he was not going to make it. I did think his play would be rewarded by getting to stay until the end. It seems like they had no problem giving Kanzig a reward and i don't see any chance of him making it.

Also maybe just me but Granlund has shown nothing this camp and was not cut.

That top line would get slapped around and probably all three would be hurt in the first week of the season.
