Basically it would look similar to the Hitmen Christmas Jerseys, with yellow instead of copper:
On a side note, how annoying is it that the Hitmen have nicer jerseys than the Flames?

I like yours better with the black being more predominant than the yellow,

I would be entirely OK with this, those are nice threads. I know some people don't like the black, but IMO you HAVE to have it. It gives it a little something every jersey was missing up until they added it.
And re: side note
Very.

This wouldn't surprise me, I know it was an idea they had considered around 2006/2007.

Haven't wordmarks been universally panned by fans and media alike? Why would they even consider it?

Especially if it says CALGARY. The only time that is even close to OK is if it was an away uniform. Calgary fans know their team is from Calgary...I hope.
At least have it say FLAMES.

Add the orange around the C and this is a pretty damn good jersey. Very reminiscent of the Sharks' old threads, which I thought were terrific.

Who said Boston jerseys? That kind of style would be excellent.

The current jerseys aren't that far off from being great. There's just aspects of them that people loathe. Like piping, the flags etc.
The creme ones we all dig would instantly be some of the best looking, most unique threads in the entire league, and the level of support they've got dwarfs most other concepts presented. Because they're fantastic.

I don't understand why the league would block the Flames from using the retros full time (if that was true)? The Oilers went full retro (but updated the colours slightly), team like Boston, Detroit, and Montreal have been using what is essentially the same jersey for 30 years. Why can't we use our best?

I haven't heard anything about the league vetoing any design. If they allowed this abomination:
I can't see them having a problem with Calgary's retros.

The only reason I can think of the league denying the request for retros is because the Flames didn't give enough notice for this year. They have to submit jersey changes so far in advance of the season.

Heard from someone tonight who would likely know tidbits, that there will be a Calgary wordmark somewhere on the jersey, so this ties in.
Given the flood, and all the pulling together of the community the past few months, I can certainly see a tie in with civic pride. It's probably the release of this being the mothballed jersey KK pulled a few years back, now more of a reason to be having "Calgary" on the front.
After all, the owners put the flags on the jersey to show the provincial and national pride when representing out of province and country; if that feels manufactured and contrived, putting "Calgary" on the front, for civic pride, seems much less so given the events since late June.

Instant fail if there is a word mark. We aren't the New York Rangers. They are the only ones that pulled it off (the Penguins weren't bad either)
