I just hope iginla gets top minutes that he deserves. He was given a back seat in Pittsburgh once crosby and malkin came back and they didn't use him properly. I watched every game he played for Pittsburgh and it was amazing how many times malkin had iginla in the right spot at the right time for a scoring chance and he just looks him off and tried to deke through 3 guys.

Iginla will benefit greatly playing with the a big skilled guy in Lucic as well. Lucic will command double teams down low giving Iginla time and space. Not sure he'll pop 50 but I would not be surprised to see him hit 30-35.

He wasn't wearing his mouthguard in those clips. Is this just a pre-season thing or is he trying something new? I only noticed because he didn't do his classic post goal mouthguard removal.

Lucic - Krejci - Iginla will have a monster season... Iginla is an upgrade over Horton even at this stage of his career.
BOS will be motivated like COL was for Bourque!

great to hear he's doing well thus far.
loved boston before this, now they will easily be the team i cheer for to to do well this year. This works out well considering, by all accounts, it should a relatively dreadful year (winning-wise) for the flames).

I hope this game is a sign he's going to have a big season. I'd love to see him get a good start and pot 35-40 this year.

I'm not sure if he still has it in him, but I would love nothing more than for him to force Team Canada's hand.

just wait until Boston has to endure Iggy's patented slow start.

That's just ridiculous. Iginla struggled end of story. Sure he wasn't the only Penguin that struggled as Crosby, Malkin and most of the Penguins struggled. However to blame his struggles on Malkin is way off base as the strike shortened season was simply a poor year for #12 all around. Hopefully Boston is a better fit but lets not assume that two goals in an exhibition game means that all his issues last season were because of Malkin and the Flames.

Boston has actual centres Iggy can play with who will help him get going. I doubt he struggles out of the gate.
Surprising what happens when the entire weight of the offense isn't on one person's shoulders.

Boston isn't building their team around a 36 year old signed to a one year deal. He's going to have bad/slow stretches but it won't effect them nearly as much as it did the Flames.

you know it's pre-season when Lucic can float a pass through the box, mid-slot.

Iginla will have a great season... 35+ goals and 70+ points for sure. I can't believe how under-valued this guy was in the offseason... Alfredsson has never had numbers as good as iginla and Alfie is older and more prone to injury than iginla yet Alfie got a bigger contract? Iggy will prove the doubters wrong this year... Especially the ones running team Canada.

That's a funny thing to notice, but I looked, and he clearly takes it out right after the first goal. So... nothing new here, still mouth guarding it up like a responsible adult. Good old Iggy.

Alfredsson has 2 more points than Iginla in their careers. Better linemates as well, but it's a bit odd of a statement to say that. And even then Iginla likely got the bigger contract, if the reported game bonus is correct he'll make as much as the maximum Alfredsson can make after playing 10 games this season. I'm not sure what Alfredsson's bonus structure is but he can only make 5.5M.
