It was $40 if you bought it with 2 other games (also $40 each) during E3.

Yeah, never miss the E3 sale. Pre-order everything for the year and return/cancel it if you don't want it. Lock in some crazy ass prices.

I thought GTA wasn't available for that promotion.

No it was in there. Mine is en route now, but not expecting to arrive until the 18th.

I think I'm going to be a massive loser and go to bestbuy in a couple hours so I can play this thing right after work tomorrow.

Mine too. Not sure if I can wait though. Might grab it tomorrow if I can and return the preorder.

Installing the game as we speak. I had no idea it would take so much space on my wimpy little first generation 360 hard drive. I had to go in there and make sure I had about 8 GB free for GTA V.

I fully expect the game to rape my mind and soul as much as it's raped my available storage space.

Didn't you read the PSA to not install the game on the xbox? Or did you download it (not sure if you can on xbox or not..)?

but you MUST install disc 1. Disc 2 is the one you shouldn't install, I think.

Quote:
For Xbox 360, Grand Theft Auto V will ship on two discs; Disc 1 will be used for a one-time mandatory install and Disc 2 will be used to play the game.

Xbox version comes with two discs - one is the play disc (do not install), and the other one is an installation disc.

I know I'm in the extreme minority but I have never been able to get deep into a GTA game without getting bored. I tend to lose interest in sandbox games as they tend to feel repetitious and lack that cohesive storyline that you get with more linear games. That said I will pick this up and this time I'm going to focus more directly on the main story missions and not get sidetracked in all the side missions.

I am the exact same way with Sandbox games, I need the cohesive storyline to focus on.

I am not sure I am going to pick this up (Have the PS4 and Xbox One coming) but think if I do I am going to take the same approach as you and will focus directly on the main story missions and ignore the side missions to start.

I used that approach with Batman: Arkham City and I was able to get through the main story without getting lost in the side missions until the end.

Edit: Thinking back GTA: San Andreas was able to keep me engaged, except for any damn flying missions especially the mini helicopter.

When done right, I don't think there is a better type of game. Red Dead Redemption is a sandbox game but the main story draws you in like no other.
