I received my Nexus 4 and didn't realize I need a microsim card. Any recommendations how to transfer my contacts etc from my current sim card to a new microsim card? I've seen online that you can cut down the sim card but I don't think that's the route I want to go.

In the meantime, enjoy your Nexus 4.
Here are some apps I am using to customize mine:
- Nova Launcher
- Minimalistic Text
- Beautiful Widget Pro
- BobClockD3
- Circle battery Widget
- CountDown Widget
- HD Widgets
- Zooper Widget Pro
Yes, some of these are paid apps. But totally worth it, if you REALLY want to customize your Nexus 4...or any Android for that matter.
Example: You know that annoying Google search bar at the top? Removed it with the Nova Launcher. Looks great! More room to customize.

Nova launcher has been the best app i've downloaded yet thanks for the recomendation.

Depending on your old device you could move it via bluetooth. Otherwise I know Bestbuy just started offering a sim cutting service for $5 which is cheaper than getting a new microsim.

After using my nexus for a couple days I can't imagine going back to iPhone. I'll find a way to deal with. You mp3 situation to use pure android goodness.
edit:
1 thing that I'm not totally impressed with is when I make calls the contact picture that comes up is very low quality resolution. When I view them in "people" it's low quality for a second then loads into the nice high res image. Can this be... "fixed"?

Yeah, it's annoying and no I don't think you can change it. The worst part is that for some reason the photo is oddly sized in that contact card that pops up. When you add a persons photo to their contact card you size it so it fits and looks nice, then when the card pops up containing all their contact info the photo is positioned very poorly, it starts at their nose!
Tiny but annoying issue that's been there since 4.0 I think

So just was at bestbuy and bought a new printer on the cheap. I almost got the new tablet but it made my nexus 4 look dated so I decided to hold off. I don't wanna feel bad about the phone I just bought... Ill wait for the Nexus 5 and just buy both and sell off my oldtablet and phone on kjiji. Was very impressed with the tablet... crap it has better image quality than my damn 27" monitor I just bought on boxing day:|
edit: if you aren't using https://mightytext.net on your android phone your not doing this android thing correctly. good gravy its quite amazing.

That mighty text is pretty cool. Took a bit but added it to my Nexus phone that I only have wifi on. Use Fongo for calls and now this mighty text for texting. Very cool.

LG didn't make it for the sales summit I was at this week. The rep was sick.
Sorry guys. I was really looking forward to it.

What a slacker. He was probably faking it. Doesn't he realize we on the internet crave new information?!?!?

I doubt it. Google (and Apple) are pushing cloud based storage and streaming solutions so it isn't in their interests to make phones with large storage. Heck, Nexus phones don't even include an SD slot. I think it will be a surprise if they change course at this point.

I don't agree with that. Apple obvious offers the larger sized devices (at a premium) for those who want it and Google has had 32GB versions of tablets. It wouldn't be completely surprising that they release a 32GB model though it does seem like a possibility rather than a probability at this point.

I thought the microSD slot would be important too until I realized the other day I have a 32GB card I never use.

The Galaxy Nexus was a 16 or 32GB option but I'd imagine we see Google stick with the 8 or 16. They're really pushing people to the cloud, aggressively and they also want to keep the phone as low cost as possible.
I saw a good article about the guys at Asus saying making the Nexus 7 almost broke them (not in the $ sense) because Google pushed so hard to make it as great as possible and keep the costs down.

I guess the only problem I have with this is the utter raping people take on mobile data charges here. Maybe it's better in the U.S. and that's why Google doesn't care.
