Default Vancouver police officer charged with assault on cyclist

Runs a red light and not wearing a helmet...typical cyclist but enough for an arrest? I don't think so and definitely not worth getting punched in the face for.

Quote:
The officers involved said they were trying to arrest a man because he rode his bicycle through a red light and wasn’t wearing a helmet.
The Office of the Police Complaints Commission ordered the West Vancouver police to investigate the allegations.
The Crown approved the recommendation of the single charge of assault this week and the charge was sworn against Bhabha in Vancouver provincial court on Friday.

Do new threads bother you or effect you in any way?

Edit: And linking the said thread would be better than whining.

Well it looks like CP has a new hero. Everyone bow down to your cyclist assaulting King.

ha Vancouver=Florida?

Oh wait, down here they would just shoot the cyclist. Deputy shot a cyclist standing between 2 cars yesterday because he "looked suspicious". Guy had a cell phone, cop thought it was a gun. yadday yadda

Why are plainclothes cops going after cyclists in Vancouver? And why does the cop have a British accent? That's a question that never got answered in Bridesmaids.

During the last boom the CPS was actively recruiting for officers over in the UK, I wonder if Vancouver got in on the action too?

The cop was twisting his arm in ways the arm shouldn't twist. I get that police are trained onto how to arrest someone but it's a natural instinct to resist a little to when your arm is being twisted the wrong way.

How is running a red light while not wearing a helmet an arrestable offence in the first place?

Ridiculous

The racist skinhead deserved that good common sense knuckle kiss. Where is the problem here? Definitely angel dust is the problem here and the cop was obviously in trouble if he couldn't get the bracelets on in time. I would be more inclined to wait for the whole story. Skinhead + phencyclidine + resisting arrest = gentle tap to the chin. Nothing to see here.

I think he was being facetious. It will be a disgrace if the cop gets to keep his job. If I were to punch a customer at my work, I'd be fired immediately. No excuse for this kind of thing. That's what policing is - customer service.

He looks like the kind of guy who spends a lot of time wondering why he just got punched in the face.

In Valo's defense, I have been quite contrary to his opinions in the past.

Are you a police officer? Otherwise that is a hilarious analogy\comparison. I would also get fired If I slugged a customer at work....."Thanks for flying with us today! *Roundhouse kick to the face*
