So we're giving up on Baertschi?
Watch out, Gaudreau. You're next.

Didn't Baertschi finish off the year with something like 9 points in his last 7 games? And now we are trading him off because of a few meaningless "not even exhibition" games? Yeesh.

No need to jump to that. Gaudreau hasn't really had the injuries that Sven has had and has shown a better ability to elude contact.
Sides, how many smallish forwards can you have? Flames are going to have to make some decisions in the near future anyways with regards to these young prospects. You can't have Sven, Gaudreau, Granlund, Backlund, all taking up top 6 spots, especially if you already have Hudler signed long term. And if this talk about signing Cammy has any legs, well, there's another one.
I'm not saying trade Sven right now, i'm saying that if there is a good deal where the Flames can get a similar type of young player like Sven but in a position of weakness, then the Flames should consider it strongly.
For example, if the Flames could land a Brayden Schenn in a package where Sven is the centrepiece, I think the Flames should consider it.

I know it's been asked a couple times but does anybody know if the game/s tomorrow are being televised or streamed online via Flames or Oilers media? It would suck to have to wait all summer only not to be able to see the first exhibition, and against the Oil.

MacDonald didn't really get pulled, they did the regular swap at the first whistle after the halfway point of the game (which they've done in all four games). The first whistle just happened to coincide with the 4th goal.

Indeed.
My thoughts from today:
SOB talks a lot on the ice. He's always directing traffic during the play and chats with the goalie after the whistle.
The ice at WinSport doesn't have the trapezoid behind the net, so prior to the second game, they came and spray painted a trapezoid behind each net (it looked ridiculous). Prior to the game, Ramo called SOB over to get him to explain the rules of the trapezoid.
Kanzig and Sieloff were paired up today, and didn't look out of place. In the first game, Sieloff just tossed Sven into the boards at one point (clean and legal hit). In the second game, Sieloff was in a puck battle along the boards with Glencross and just sort of pushed him away and took the puck.
The roster has Sieloff listed as 6'1" and Sven as 5'11", but they looked the same height to me.
Sven, Hudler, and Granlund were on the same line for most of the first game. Lots of pretty moves, but they're going to need a big body to make some space for them.
Monahan looked a lot better today than yesterday. He was really driving the play, and made a couple of nice defensive plays to break up chances for the other team. I hope we see the Cammalleri - Monahan - D. Jones line tomorrow.
Ferland is really making a push to be in Calgary when the season starts. Another good, smart couple of games from him. Every time I noticed #79, it was because he was doing something right.
Brodie continues to impress. He's not afraid to pinch into the play, and there were a couple of times that he led the rush for his team.
Jackman was hustling pretty well.
Backlund looked pretty good too.
Ramo has a really good glove hand. He was easily grabbing the puck out of mid-air and killing any pressure from the other teams.
Berra was wearing a new mask with the Flames logo on one side and the Heat logo on the other.

So far, in terms of results, Berra/Ortio/Brossoit > Ramo/MacDonald. Intriguing...
Oh, and it sounds like Loubardias thinks Monahan is ready.

Just walked by the international hotel. Overheard a young guy on his cell phone taking about defensive pairings at camp.
Wideman and Butler, and he wasn't sure who he was getting paired with tomorrow.
Not sure who he was, young, blond hair.
