When I saw Ramo's hair I had a childhood flashback. Like this.

@Fan960Steinberg: #Flames announce the four tryout players they invited to Penticton will not be attending main camp

@Fan960Steinberg: Those players were Linden Penner, Dylan Smoskowitz, Zach Davies, and Andy Taranto. #Flames

@Fan960Steinberg: Davies and Taranto will be going to Abbotsford training camp, however. #Flames

@Fan960Steinberg: 3 players won't be skating to start camp: Chris Breen (shoulder surgery rehab), Morgan Klimchuk (ab injury), Eric Roy (ab injury). #Flames

So Smoskowitz was just straight up let go? I thought he was fairly good.

I thought he was pretty good also. Thought he played well enough to garner an AHL contract anyways - perhaps he didn't want an AHL only contract?

A guy in his position would take any contract he could get.

It looks like he's playing his overage year in Mississauga, so I'm sure they'll keep an eye on him during the season.

He looked good, but there's no need to commit to him right now.

Darn, I'll only be able to make it out to one day of training camp this year.

Yeah I could definitely see Galiardi playing centre on that line with Hudler and Baertschi.

I am hoping that Knight really steps up and earns a spot either 3C or 4C on the NHL club. I wasn't too impressed with his Penticton tourney though.

Also looking for Horak to make strides.

I am wondering whether the youth movement is really going to happen day one. With the addition of players like Russell, Galiardi, Jones, and O'Brien there isn't much room on the roster.

I don't think that is a big concern. Barring a miracle the Flames are likely going to be sellers at the deadline and there will be lots of room come March. I don't think it is the end of the world of some of these players spend a few months developing at the AHL before moving into the NHL.

I do think the goalie spot will be interesting though. I could see any of Berra, Ramo, MacDonald, or Ortio earning starts this season.

Oddly the site works for me but the embedded videos don't.

The best part of Ramo's interview was when Millions said Kipper was residing in Calgary this year and asked Ramo if he welcomed an opportunity to talk with him. Ramo lit up like a kid at Christmas at the thought, he has the opportunity to fill an idols shoes, that should be great motivation for him.

Does Lamb have a contract? Too bad Breen is hurt right now and I would like to have seen Roy at this camp.

No, Lamb was not qualified or tendered an offer.
