I think he'll have a nice year for them and will make the team. He's not a guy who can succeed with media scrutiny.

kind of surprising that he takes a PTO. After the Philly debacle, I expected him to go back to mother Russia.
That being said, I think he'll do fine in Florida. Not that big of a spotlight.

Nice, if we didn't have Ramo or MacDonald I would have liked the Flames to give him a shot.

Lol I guess money is no object for him at the moment but still. Guy may not be top notch but he is a very good goaltender. And we all know he's at his best when people he plays for don't give a crap.

id love Bryz here on a PTO just to create competition.
I really think this guy can play the game still and he used to own the Flames. ....kind of like Khabibulin used too.....then he turned into DUI ...just like the Hawks Coach ....DUI ....DUI .....I started this chant at a game once and its was loudly brilliant and funny when 10 k people joined in.

I could see him splitting with Markstrom for the next year or two.

I don't want to cheer for Flames losses at this point.... but I'll certainly cheer Florida getting better.

Hear, hear! Don't cheer for losses, just cheer for everyone less to win. 3 point games all around!

It's too bad, I would of like to of seem Thomas here for a year or two to mentor some of our younger guys like Rammo, Berra, Brossoit, Ortio. I know thats not a popular decision here on CP, but I like the idea of a solid goalie- especially on a young team to breed some confidence and gain more leadership. Let the roasting begin !

I don't think there's anymore than usual. Theres just a bunch going to decent players who probably should be able to secure at least short term contracts.

looks like he can go to a team that has no expectations, or low expectations, and do a little above average and put them in a good position. He however, doesn't seem to be able to put it together when he is the #1 guy on a team expecting to do big things.

This could be a win win for both sides. Bryz didn't fair well in a hockey strong market where the media watches your every move and everything you say. If he manages to turn his game around the Panthers get a good gaolie on the cheap.
