Rumor: Flames to Have New 3rd Jersey Next Year

Jersey threads are among my favourite, so 600 posts is probably too few for some of us. That said, mustard jerseys are a terrible idea.

I am having a hard time imagining gold colored jerseys that would actually look decent, not to mention how it would mess with the C of red.

I have a friend that works with the EA sports design team in Vancouver. He told me the new Flames jerseys are not pretty. I ask him the main color he replied Yellow.

Just wanted to apologize for my ill-conceived remarks yesterday. I was having a very rough day and decided to take it out on my fellow CPers for some strange reason. Looking at my posts it doesn't represent my normal thinking, so just ignore it. I couldn't even tell you why it set me off yesterday, but looking at it today I sound like an arrogant dink.

I said that to my girlfriend as soon as I received the season ticket packages. I kinda hope so, black on black could look bad ass.

And, maybe they'll just skate out of the tunnel with them similar to the BC Lions coming out with their 3rds unannounced.

I just know the jersey is going to be ugly I can feel it. We got rid of the best(and the "real") Calgary Flames jersey for some ugly rebranding piece of crap. Young Guns era version 2 wouldn't be complete without a ridiculous jersey with a fire breathing cow logo.

I can only imagine if you think it's going to be gold you're going with the "talk about the worst possible option so I'm not disappointed" methodology.

I have to say, I know it won't happen as the alternate, but in the future I think keeping our current colour scheme (with the black) would look really good on the retro jersey style. The 80's style jerseys are cool, but I really think we need a more original design instead of just reverting back for the sake of nostalgia.

Agree with this. All black with a simple red C on the front and an outline number red on the back would be awesome.

All we know is:
They DO exist.
They aren't the retro jersey.

Haha dammit, and here I was all ready to get on you for the irony of you having a buttload of posts/opinions in the "what should the Flames new goal song be?" thread.

No worries dude, we all have our days. Just like we all have our interests in areas that probably don't deserve as much attention as we give them. For whatever reason I've just always been into the aesthetics of uniforms. Combine that with it being the off-season, and the possibility of my beloved retros disappearing almost as quickly as they arrived, and the rest is over-analyzing history.

EDIT: Yellow as the dominant colour eh? Considering I've been pushing for more yellow in the jersey design, I guess this could be a classic case of careful what you wish for..

Well, they exist now, or else the jersey code would be released. So if the Flames are going to scrap them, they haven't done it yet.
