4 seasons, to be exact.

I'm fine with them being retired if we're not going to go with a full retro kit. They're nice jerseys, but unless you're going to really utilise them and design them in a fitting way for home and away use, then they're just nostalgia pieces.
I do think there needs to be some overhaul of the uniforms in general. It's a completely different era than the one represented by the jerseys we currently have.

So of course they'll be tweaked retros.
That would be amazing. I think I'd take a modernized version of the retros (kinda like what Edmonton did) over the actual retros we've been wearing. I'm not so much in love with the retros as the retro colour scheme itself.

And I like the idea of going somewhere fresh. Hence why we should be doing it not with the 3rds, but our main jerseys, which we've been wearing for over a decade now. Most people seem to hate the current, over-piped, flagged up version of them anyways. Perfect time for an overhaul.

Isn't a modernized version of the retros exactly what we did? Edmonton didn't do anything fancy, they just took their 80's design and applied it to the Reebok jerseys. Same as us.

I'm hoping for a simple design that will eventually become our new home jersey, and then ultimately make a matching road jersey. You can also add me to the group of folks who love the black C. Definitely hope it's here to stay.

Kinda, but they altered it around the neck and shoulders, just a slight modernizing effect I thought looked sharp. Ours is pretty much exactly the 80's one on a Reebok jersey. Minor changes that make a difference.

EDIT: And I'd take a more drastic modernizing change than what the Oilers did, just saying I like what they did. I would love to see what the Flames could come up with where the only rules are keep the C, and red/yellow/white only.

I went to the Flames Fan Attic over the weekend and the retros are still selling at full price, does it mean that the team will still be wearing those this season?

Same as Sport Chek. The crazy $34.99 discontinued deal is dead...

I'm really curious what the Flames are waiting for now. By now we've seen all the other reveals for revised jerseys...are they going to wait for the preseason to actually start to show the new thirds?

Sorry to gripe but it just seems so typical of the Flames organization to hold out this long to unveil a stupid alternate jersey. Everytime there is somethiing to be announced, CP has the scoop right away. Then we all read it and get excited.... Then we wait.
What about the new arena plans too?!? Why wait to announce the change in position for Conroy? Jersey retirements/honorings same thing.
Unless they are waiting to get closer to christmas season for a boost in sales, I can't see a reason.

I'm fairly sure all NHL teams split the pot on jersey sales, so this doesn't seem to make much sense.

You share them after a certain point but I believe for a certain time period after they release a new design (First 90 days?) the team gets all of the profit from their jersey sales.

Yeah I don't know. I'm just crabby cause I can't play with the new jerseys on NHL 14 yet because of the Flames org. I don't care what the reason is really, it just sucks.

I'm sure that hasn't been the case for several years now.

On the away jerseys, a wordmark of Calgary with a map of Alberta with a dot where Calgary is on the shoulder along with the flag would really show up Vancouver. How do people know they aren't from Vancouver, WA.

Hopefully the new logo includes a visible QR code so we can scan them with our phones and it directs us to Google Maps just in case we're not totally sure.

Nearly 600 posts about fancy laundry....

Guys, seriously, is this really worth this much discussion?
