Yes.
Thanks Kipper for everything, greatest goalie Flames have ever had. I feel incredibly lucky as a Flames fan to have the opportunity to watch and cheer for a world class goalie like him for all these years. Hopefully they replace the 30 in the rafters with 34.

There was a two to three season stretch when Kipper was unquestionably the most dominant goalie in the league.

I don't think I've ever seen it, really funny. Funny how he's the total opposite of this shy recluse we all think we've known. The guy seems to be more of a Finnish James Bond. Or because their is a Netflix ad to the right on my screen, a Finnish Archer.

Some people might debate this, but I believe for that stretch Kiprusoff was better than any member of the Flames has been over the course of the history of the franchise.

Even though it seemed like a foregone conclusion still sad to officially hear it announced today. Will never forget the 04 run and his numerous highlights. We as fans were extremely lucky to be able to watch Kipper every night. Always gave us a chance to win. Thank you Kipper!

Why would you want to replace the 30 in the rafters, versus simply adding 34?

My favorite Flame of all time. Seeing him make those incredible saves day in and out was a blessing.

Best goaltender the franchise has ever had, no debate. I liked him ever since Sutter plucked him out of San Jose, admittedly never in my wildest dreams did I think he would become the backbone of our team, but boy has it been fun watching it happen!
Glad nobody has called me out as I think I stated some time before last season that I would "bet anything" Kipper played this year, good thing nobody took me up on that!
Thanks for a great decade Kipper, hope you have a awesome retirement.

Does anyone here think Kiprusoff's career was Hall of Fame worthy? I've seen a bunch of people suggesting it was. I'm not sure if I agree or not though. While he had a handful of incredible seasons, he was only slightly above average the rest of his career (yes I know the team in front of him wasn't great, but still). He also never won a cup.
What do you all think?

If people entered the hall on pure skill than yeah probably. Sadly he started his career a bit late to probably be considered. But I personally believe that he is one of the greatest goaltenders ever. If he was a Leaf he would have been in before retiring.

Probably not, unfortunately. As the poster above alluded to, he wasn't a premier goaltender for long enough. Though if that goal had counted back in 2004 and he had a cup (and maybe a Conn Smythe) on his resume I think you could make a fairly strong case.

Nope. If he had a bit longer career, then I think he would be. Either way he's my favorite player of all time.

Yeah that's what I thought too. Not to take away from his achievements, just thought I'd see what other people thought.
