I liked PL when he did the TV PBP, but I really got to understand his passion for the game and his knowledge at the Junior Level during his time subbing in on the fan.

the mock draft that the fan did in late june where the 3 guys drafted and debated was an awesome show to me. I really understood PL's passion for the game as he knew so many little things about the players.

I think that PL will blow away the typical PBP that we get on CBC. I doubt strongly that PL will resort to "he's from Bonavista Newfoundland" more than as an intro...whereas it should be a drinking game with the CBC coverage.

I miss Loubo's play by play. I think he will be a GREAT color man. Nobody has more hockey knowledge the Loubardias.

I remember that call, it was awesome! Really happy for Loubo. I think Pete and Pete will be a great combo.

On a side note. Man, that 08-09 Flames team could have done some damage if it wasn't for so many injuries.

Second best news of the summer.

I honestly don't know of a guy in media that loves the game of hockey as much as Loubardias and I doubt you'd find someone more knowledgable about the game and especially about prospects.

Should be good if Lombo tones it down a little, I really wish they could sync Radio with TV because Rob Kerr is brutal.

Agreed. Polorizing player, but this team has seriously missed the hands and puck possesion of a guy like Bertuzzi, and there are some good Loubardias calls here...

Healthy 08-09 lineup would have been unbelievable:

1st - Cammy-Jokinen-Iginla
2nd - Bourque-Langkow-Bertuzzi
3rd - Glencross-Conroy-Moss
4th - Roy-Boyd-Nystrom
Lundmark

Regehr-Aucoin
Leopold-Phaneuf
Sarich-Vandermeer
Pardy

Kiprusoff

If it was to be made official today, then why did Kirch post it here 4 days ago?

No brainer, great choice. Lou has a great knowledge of young players and up and coming players and lets be honest that's what the Flames have. When Lou lost his position with SN doing play by play he handled it with all class. My level of respect went to a whole new level for Lou when he lost his dream job to Rob Kerr and then less than 2 weeks later has the professionalism to sit and fill in and do the Big Show with that same Rob Kerr. It's like losing your wife to another man and then having to hang out with that same guy all afternoon for 2 weeks. Some kind of guy that Lou!

Great news, big fan of Loubo but i would rather he replace Kerr on SN.
I like Kerr's passion for the Flames as play by play broadcast, but Loubo was very less ear piercing and just a much smoother delivery.
Kerr has good intentions but just comes off quite often spastic.
Regardless Loubo will bring his personalty to the radio like he always does.
Congrats on the new gig Loubo!
