Much better second half. My three Flame stars:
1) Ortio: Duh
2) Ferland: Fight turned it around. Played well for the rest.
3) Ramage: GWG and a generally strong game.

Undefeated!!! I really hope that Ferland and Ortio can turn into solid NHL'ers.

Ortio 39/40 on the night. May make main camp very interesting.

I've been very impressed with Ramage between the rookie camp and this tourney so far. I guess Freeway was really on to something here. I personally didn't have much exposure to him until now, but I like what I've seen so far.

Noticed Horvat in the faceoffs that's about it. Oh and Shinkaruk slamming his stick, presumably frustrated with who drafted him.

I work with Joey Kenwood and I normally don't care for him too much in his role but he is putting Kerr to shame. Kerr almost embarrassing at times. Man o man.
Flames have some players coming. Nothing flashy but some real solid hockey players. Pretty interesting team in a two or three years.

Really? They almost scored on Ortio's best save of the night. They were both pretty solid, especially Horvat. Oh, and Shinkaruk had a couple of temper tantrums.

Marleau is fast though, while Monahan has pretty average speed (and by average I mean average, not as a euphemism for slow). But he's looked slow so far in this tournament, and has been playing poorly overall...Maybe something to do with the weight he put on this summer, or an injury, or maybe he's sick? I don't know.

Certainly can see why Malarchuk is so high on Ortio. Great game by the goalie.

Much better 2nd half and the skill of our forwards really showed. Ortio was excellent the whole game well.

The only complaint I had with Ramage's game is that he tends to over commit defensively a bit, which can open some space for an opposing forward. It's minor for sure, but it's something that might limit him to being a 5-6 guy more than a 3-4 guy down the road.

His style is soooo like Kippers, very athletic. I'm pleasantly surprised.

This really made me look forward to the possibility that a Finnish netminder can continue to make this team better than they actually are.

I agree. As a complete amateur when it comes to scouting its especially hard for me to project the type of attributes he brings to the game. And like most I haven't seen much of him live. Yet he strikes me as very composed, smart and a good leader. Whether it be for the Heat, or hopefully one day for the Flames, I think he will have a positive influence on the organization.

Monahan with 2 goals in 2 games, and leading the tourney with a +3. Nice.

Horvat was pretty invisible other than that scoring chance. I enjoyed Shinkaruk's tantrums for sure.
