Haha, I try not to think about that. That'd be a sleepless night.

I don't think it'd happen, I like when its got the curling iron style flip at the end or something. Not just any basic long hair. If the guy's doing that, at that point its his fault. That's entrapment.

It's funny because it seems like the people who don't like tattoos are more passionate about being against them then those that have them and enjoy them.
You have your age ranges wrong; below is the survey data with the actual age ranges. This is from 2010, so add 3 years. Read it all here: http://www.pewsocialtrends.org/files...-to-change.pdf

It's the same with tattoos, just a different projection. If people really didn't care, they wouldn't need to project their thoughts to others with visible tattoos. They could just live, laugh and love on the inside.
Some people care enough about what other people think to get what they want. I only care enough about what my employer thinks of my appearance and personality so as to keep getting a paycheque from them for the work I do. Don't confuse that for sincerely caring what other people or strangers think.

If some people care what strangers think of them, then that's great but that's not everyone. Do you really give a crap what random people on the street think of you?

Well, in two posts, I think we've found the line between sexy and unsexy tattoos.

This.

I have zeros tattoos, and the there are some cringe-worthy posts made in the against category.

Better like dry walling if you have a neck tattoo? Hardly. It might limit you at your next interview with Suncor downtown but the creative field is filled with people covered in ink.. and that attitudes towards inks is changing rapidly in the professional 9-5 field too.

It seems others share this sentiment. A girl with lots of tattoos might make for a fun fling, but we probably aren't compatible long term.

And as with most things, if the girl is hot, she'll still be hot when covered in tattoos.

Haha that's funny, cause I know her... not a fan of the tattoos, but she can pull them off...

As someone who is actually in the creative industry, I think that's true, but to an extent. While a ton of people have your basic tattoos, you definitely paint yourself into a corner if you do anything above the neck.

Sure, if you don't really see your clients face-to-face, or you're working in something fairly small scale, it's not an issue (sometimes its a positive), but the more money and face to face client time is involved in your position, the higher the expectations for professional appearance. If you work in something of relative professional stature (ie a design/ad agency or architecture firm), you're not going to be put in front of the client with a neck tattoo. What people forget is that while the creative people might be open to these things... the clients are often not. If you're the guy with the neck tattoo and droopy earlobes, you better own the place.

I'm not a huge ink fan, but if the tattoo is well designed, well done and represents something of actual importance to the person (and can be covered if required), then I'm fine with it. But people who either go to the tattoo shop and pick something out of the book, or put stupid tribal symbols or vines on their forearms, no thanks.

For example, my wife has a tattoo on her upper back, which is her two grandmother's favourite birds, each holding one end of a banner that has the names of the countries they emigrated to Canada from. Or my sister, who had my mom's initials (in mom's handwriting) put on her inner wrist after she died. To me, those tattoos have special meaning to the owner and are nice.

Going back to the OP's issue....did she know what tattoo she was going to get before she left and did she show it to you? Actually, in this case it doesn't matter. It's actually worse if she thought about it for months and all she came up with was that cheesy ass slogan.

Dump her. Do it now.

Her body to do with what she likes. You either like the woman or you don't. If you do suck it up as it won't be the last thing that she does that upsets you and this is pretty minor.

I'll be completely honest if after 6 months you haven't gotten to a deeper level of intimacy that doesn't revolve primarily around physical attractiveness and thoughts of embarrassment being with that someone because they are wearing something you think is terrible (or in this case a tattoo) it is likely time to end it.

Now, on a related manner? Does anyone else think its wrong for people to have tattoos of naked people, or generally obscene imagery, to display them in public, were children can be exposed to them?
