As for A&E hiring her I don't know who she is and I had no idea what channel her show is on. Nor do I have any idea why she was hired since I've never watched her show.

If you have ever seen American Pickers, she has the same exact job as the tattooed girl on that show. Pretty much an assistant/secretary to the main characters of the show aka eye candy.

Quick poll. How many of those saying short hair and tattoos are not attractive are under the age of 35? I think it's probably a age thing with exceptions obviously.

This is disappearing as a problem as well. I know several successful people in multiple industries that have many tattoos. As younger generations take the reigns of companies, it won't be an issue. Now that's not to say neck tattoos and 0 gauge piercings aren't going to be an issue, but even sleeve tattoos shouldn't hinder anyone from getting a job.

I'm 30, but my 20 year old self felt the same way. The hair thing for me is more just because for whatever reason, hair is pretty much the first thing I look at on a girl. It's funny the amount of times I've been in traffic and attracted to the girl in the car ahead of me simply by seeing the back of her head, if she had great hair. So a girl chopping it all off is removing a major part of what I'm physically attracted to.

I'm actually fine with a bob too, its not my favourite but it looks good on some girls. But that boyish cut like in that picture on this page...ya, no. Just no.

An exaggeration of what I'm saying is dinosaurs. However I am 33 so I don't think anyone over is a dinosaur, just that tattoos became a lot more prevalent 10 yrs ago and those that were in high school and college at that point are more likely to overlook/like tattoos vs. those already in the workforce.

That is not a generational thing. People get face tattoos, will always be at the back of the bus for opportunity in a professional workplace. However, those that tend to get face tattoos typically don't care if they are viewed as professionals.... at least at the stage in their life where they are stupid enough to sit in the chair and request one.

Tattoos aren't some new fangly thing like you are making it out to be. Men and women were getting copious amount of ink injected into their skin when I was coming out of high school 20 years ago. And I LOL HARD when I see some previously hot chick that got tattooed I went to school with, all sagged out after punching out 3 or 4 kids. I can just imagine worn out, faded Mickey mouse on her tit that probably has a pancake sized Areola, and stretch marks all over her tramp stamp.

If you think that I was saying tattoos are new, then you missed the point. They aren't new, but they are way more prevalent today than they used to be. If you don't agree than you are arguing with facts. ~40% of millenials have tattoos vs. 32% of Gen Xers vs. only 15% of baby boomers. Yes, a face tattoo will hurt you in getting a job, however a sleeve tattoo won't hurt you as like it did 20 years ago. So sorry, you are incorrect. You are presenting extremes and acting like they are norms. Your last example is especially hilarious because you are pretty much bashing a chick for getting old and having kids. Guess what? A large majority of women are less attractive after having 4 kids.

Going from 32% to %40 isn't WAAAAAaaaaaaaay more prevalent.

And the second point is, pretty much every tattoo looks like ass on a haggard old body. So it is only a temporary vanity thing for a couple decades, then it is just a big festering boil of an eyesore. So what's the point?

What about the 15% of Baby Boomers? And in GenXers they are including 30-35 year olds who I think raise their percentage up quite a bit.

No one is attractive when they are older, so why not?

It's funny because it seems like the people who don't like tattoos are more passionate about being against them then those that have them and enjoy them.

Baby boomers typically aren't just entering the job market. The majority of them have or are about to retire. And it is entirely possible to be attractive and in shape in your 50's and 60's, it is just that, most people aren't.
