The only thing they've ever said about the animal is that it's a WILD animal. So cheesy.

It's meant to be ambiguous, just like their mascot.

True, great logo. Mentioned it before, but the H in it is great use of negative space, like the arrow in the Fedex logo.

All it needs is some shiny black plastic star shapes ironed onto the shoulders.

From now on, no jersey will be complete without that garbage.

The greatest uniforms of all time are worn by the Cleveland Browns.

Really? The Whalers jersey is pretty clear to me, not this "Where's waldo" logo.

Icon32 riveting long weekend discussion

As far as not noticing it before, I guess I've only glanced at the logo, I saw trees, mist/stream, a sunset. I put "Wild" and "Wilderness" together and never gave it a second thought. It seemed pretty boring just like the team, and likely I've never looked at the logo longer than 5 seconds, or from at least 30-40 feet away.

The original post was probably the first time I've ever really looked closely at the jersey, and had an "aha" moment, followed by "I can't believe I never noticed that before". I'm pretty sure everyone in their lifetime has had one of those moments and said those exact words to themselves ( and for probably much more obvious things).

Most logo's are exactly what they are portrayed to be on first glance (not two things) so I'm actually pretty surprised that someone thinks it's such a surprising thing to not notice

Anyways the fact that it is both things, actually makes the logo better and I like it a lot more now.

*tldr*

the more you know.gif

And yet we had our own Bearcat for years and it didn't create as much of a commotion as this.

Can't we just call it the bearcat logo? It worked for Jim.

When I first saw it I instantly thought "Hey a bear! Hey I see trees and the sun in there! And a shooting star! Sweet!"

I didn't notice the river until a year later though

And for us people that always saw a bear, this is what I assume other people saw:

Spoiler!

That bear is clearly struggling to drop a deuce. There has to be an inside joke with the people who came up with that logo. Really look at it. I'm actually offended now.

Nope, it doesn't appear to be an inside joke, people legitimately liked the concept. It "kinda" looks like it's gonna drop one but it does look like it's running.

Anyways, I think the new jersey looks a lot nicer with better lighting:
