Or, you don't care enough about her feelings. She wants to do this to her own body. She has the right to do that. If you don't find that reasonable, then you have the choice to leave.

I don't agree that this works the other way.

Hopefully she finds this thread like jhunt's girlfriend found that thread and we can get a delicious payoff.

You've been going out for 6 months and knew before the relationship started she was getting this done. This wasn't a surprise to you. From her perspective, it would appear you were accepting enough of her decision to get the tattoo to start the relationship, so why shouldn't she go ahead with it? If you got into the relationship thinking you could change her, you're thought process is completely flawed and unfair to her.

She's the same person you wanted to begin a relationship with in the first place, tattoos and all. If your motives from the start were disingenuous, that's your own fault, not hers. She deserves better than this. She deserves someone who is completely accepting of her for everything she is. It's time for you to move on, for her sake.

In my opinion 98% of all tattoos are insanely stupid (male or female) and look terrible.

What is your 2 percent?

You either have something picked out, or didn't want to get in trouble for saying 100 percent.

Curious.

I must have missed that part and it's a good point if that's how it went down. I'll just add that a relationship is a living changing thing. Even if that was the deal in the beginning, that's not always what evolves. Constant talk and re-evaluation on both sides is not unreasonable. We all change our standards better and worse, and re-evaluate what is truly important to us.

I'm bending over a little to be fair, especially since I like tats. But turn offs are turn offs. Sometimes you can't do much about it.

As I said earlier though, there seems reasons on both sides that this wasn't going to work, or even that now, they want it to.

That's fine. Relationships die.

Arm tattoos are for men end of story. Yeah I know some females get them on their arms but its masculine and simply a bad decision that a lot of women will have to live with for the rest of their lives. Be smart and get them in tasteful areas where they can be covered by clothing.

Dated a girl with a 'sleeve'. Very artistic and SO hot. She did it well and it fit her.

How many male posters have tattoos but hate them on women. Just curious

I have long hair! Like both on women, depends.

I know you weren't challenging me, as we seem to be on the same page, but like to gender bend.

Plus every killer dude that wielded a sword had long hair.

End of story? Well, I'm glad that it's settled at least. I was worried there would be differing opinions and back and forth discussion and all that, but Erick Estrada came in and definitively made the final call. Can you please do this in more threads? It would save us a lot of time.

Here's for every one else...

..and here's one more to Erick Estrada's liking. It's an arm tattoo on a dude, where he declared they should be...

You know what this thread needs? Visual support for the pro- and anti-tattoo arguments.

Edit: flameswin and I must have had the same thought!

He said it was "masculine" and therefore only guys should have them. Don't ruin the joke, dude.

I must be in the minority:

1) I like tattoos on women, if it has meaning and is in the right spot. Vines / Koi / Tribal / Flowers / lame phrases are ruining tats on women; if it's not one bad tattoo trend its another. However, some have some great ones and is kind of hot.

2) Arm sleeves suck. Why do people think their lives are so epic they have to visually show everybody anytime they go out in public? Half the time it looks like someone #### on their forearms. Especially dudes who get these, if it's not hipster "know more about me on my Facebook page" types, its the Metal Milisha crowd who hang truck nuts on their Dodge Rams. No thanks for either one!

3) I love short hair on women. Not dyke short, but I can find serious attraction in a women with a bob. Remember lads, short hair lets you see the nape of a woman's neck, a largely underrated part of the female anatomy!

You could've choose someone better to post though. Somebody like The Rock would've been perfect.
