This first weekend has always been a bit of a joke as far as matchups go...yes it brings money to the small schools getting annihilated but its just so ridiculous to play games that quite simply dont matter one iota as the outcome is secured.
I just saw Oregon is 58 pt favorites this week. The absurdity of this being called a game is huge.

Haha yeah that's just a stupid matchup for the Ducks. I think they were supposed to play Nevada instead but they pulled out.

Thankfully the upcoming playoff should help cut back on these patsy type games. Games like that could be the deciding factor in keeping a team out of the playoff based on SOS.
Also I don't think this is the record for a point spread. I believe Oklahoma was a 70 point favourite in one of their games a few years ago.

I'm hopeful that it will but you'll always have team pulling out of agreed to games and other that just want stupid fees to come play.

Ole Boise State, "we will play anyone, anytime, anywhere" (as long as you come back to our gimmick turf and you still pay us for coming to your school but we wont pay you for coming to us...

Go to a Big Ten campus where the football program isn't in such a sad state and you'll find a similar vibe as you did in the Big 12.

Yeah but he said he was in Stillwater. They also have a horrendous football program. BOOMER!

And then complain that they don't get NC bids because everyone is "afraid" to play them.

If you think Texas is winning the Big 12 you are on some serious Homer kool-aid. Texas is going through the phase that OU went through in the 90's. That phase is called "being horrible".

We'll see. The Big 12 is up in the air this year (and also terrible) and I really don't think it's that far of a reach to say the 3rd place team in the Big 12 last year coming back with 19 starters (most in the nation) could win the conference.

God I hope that clemson beats UGA tomorrow. If there is a god.
Florida has 4 players suspended for the game tomorrow vs Toledo. I do know that one is Purifroy (amazing player) and rumors have Cummings, and Latroy Pittman.
I'm trying to hear about the 4th one, some of these may be suspensions that were from over the summer that are now being dealt out, but most likely these are for smoking that sticky icky

Junior cornerback Loucheiz Purifoy, Junior defensive tackle Darious Cummings, sophomore wide receiver Latroy Pittman, redshirt freshman offensive lineman Quinteze Williams and freshman defensive tackle Jay-nard Bostwick will all be sidelined after reportedly breaking team rules prior to the game.

Pittman and Purifoy are gonna be missed

North Dakota State with a TD in the final minute to upset KState in Manhattan. Great game and a great example of why I love college football.

I'm not home but does anyone know what games the Big10 channel has on tomorrow? I couldn't quite get the website to update the schedule to Saturday. I love that network, it gives me something to watch on a lazy Saturday after work.

NDSU is a FCS powerhouse right now. The list of FBS teams they absolutely could not beat is a short one, IMO.
I'm glad Montana State backed out of their game that was scheduled for next weekend. Making a few hundred thousand playing SMU is better than losing to a likely playoff opponent.

SI's Stewart Mandel correctly predicted that NDSU would upset Kansas State.

As a FCS fan and a K-State despiser let me just say that it couldn't happen to a worse group of fans than that. I am smiling today knowing that a few of the K-State fans I used to work with in Wichita are scrambling for excuses today after weeks of build up to what they all (always) believe to be their year.

5 wins for the FCS over FBS schools so far this weekend.
I still hate those terms, btw.

I suppose you are all on pins and needles anticipating the really big game of the week, on Sunday... - Colorado State vs. Colorado! How big is it? It might be the best opportunity either of them have all season to win a game! Rocky Mountain High! (Go, Rams!)
