My sources say LG. But more and more is pointing towards Motorola.
I wouldn't mind either. Just no glass back this time.

The Google-LG combo was such a smashing success its hard to see why they would move apart, there's clearly excellent alignment between their teams.
That said, Motorola has been dropping good devices since being acquired by Google and its probably a good time to bring all that expertise together.
My guess (70% likelihood) is that the next iteration of Nexus Phone has a giant M on the back.

It was mainly a success just because this is the first time they've sold at this price from the start. The Galaxy Nexus dropped down to $300 only at the end before the Nexus 4 came out.

The fact it's still one of the best phones on the market has nothing to do with it I suppose.
I'd like to see them go with LG again, though at the end of the day it doesn't really matter. Google works in house at Google with designers from whoever they are working with to design each Nexus device.

Sure it's near the top but once you take away that value factor it doesn't look as pretty. The Moto X is a similar device that offers one if the best user experiences out of the box but being priced as high as an S4 or HTC One? So far it hardly looks to have the fraction of popularity that the Nexus 4 does.
The N4 doesn't offer much else other than stock android and being unlocked to call it a success for anything else but primarily the price.

I'd take the Nexus 4 over the Samsung S4 and the iPhone 5, the HTC one is the only phone that matches or beats it IMO. Then after you factor in the price, it's a clear winner.

For me I'd still take the S4 or iPhone 5 over the Nexus 4; if they were all the same price and unlocked. I bought the Nexus 4 (OK- I bought 2 of them) because the plan for both phones didn't make LTE nessesary.
Having used LTE for almost a year I wouldn't want to go backwards. In fact that's also the reason I didn't get the 4s when I was elligible for an upgrade; wanted to have LTE.

As long as the speaker isn't on the back of the phone this time, I don't care who makes it! A flat backed phone with a speaker on the back is useless.

Really? Take the S4, load a custom ROM like CM. Boom...done. Pure Android with a kick ass sized phone, wicked processor and loaded with RAM.

This!
I don't get it. I often don't hear incoming texts or emails due to the speaker being suffocated by my counter or desk or coffee table... I usually over-hang the speaker off my counter so I can hear notifications.
I hope they address and fix this with the new unit.

Could always get a beast like the next Galaxy Note. Phone calls give everybody in the vicinity a slight jump because of the volume. It's not clean but it's still loud.
Though I do agree having it on the back is just useless.

Yup.
I received my N4 today and am thoroughly pleased, but the speaker on the backside was a disappointment.....didn't even think about it when ordering.
Oh well....for $199 I can't help but feel like I stole the device. Wow does it kick the butt of my old LG Optimus 2X.

So you guys that ordered it from the Google Play Store- was there any duty on it when you got it? I just got my tracking number, and see it ships from the US.

The invoiced cost was "Phone" + "Shipping" + "GST" = Total
No other costs incurred.

The nexus 4 is the only android I've ever used that isn't constantly hamstrung by lags in the visual presentation. The processors are not what makes a phone good, it's hardware/software integration. The nexus gets this. The One, the Galaxies and Xperia do not.

How long is the Nexus 4 sale for?
My Evo 3d seems to have kicked the bucket after less than two years and the 8gb seems to be a good option.

This should be the permanent price until they stop stocking it.

I only spent a week with the N4 and although it was very nice I would put the S3 running CM or Slim up against it. Since the later stages of 4.2.2 and now 4.3 I haven't seen lags of any kind. The difference between stock Google (Nexus line) and ASOP is very small. Better kernel drivers, camera and of course intergrated gapps. The framework and libs are all the same.
I'll take the customizations of custom ROM's over the miniscule performance of stock. Don't get me wrong I will look to get the N5/6 but purely for the specs of the phone nothing to do with pure Google, it is a lot easier to flash and develop on the Nexus line.

Nice, would love to have one but just don't have the cash. The next one I guess.
