Nice pick. Was waiting a bit longer on him but was wanting him in my top 6. Great value in that pick.

I need to take a center, and there's only one truly elite pivot left. So I'll have to break my post-expansion team and take Howie Morenz since he's dropped so damn low in this draft.

Three different players now with exactly 3 Hart Trophies (Orr, Ovechkin, and Morenz).

Need some leadership and a defensibly responsible 3rd line center who can also score. So with the 124th pick, team Ninja is pleased to select: from Ottawa, Ontario Rod Brind'Amour

Steals and Reaches for Rounds 4-6

Round 4

Steal: Iginla/Hall - Both players who dropped further than they should have especially given some of the players taken before them

Reaches: Makarov/Karlson - While both two very good players, I do think that they both could have been selected later. In Karlson's case, it is a potential that he would be a top defender but I don't see it right now.

Round 5

Steal: Perreault/Pilote - Best players who were on the board in my opinion and one of the more forgotten defenders from an all time perspective (Pilote).

Reach: Quick - Really high peak, unknown longevity though is the issue.

Round 6

Steal: St. Louis - Impressive longevity and peak, really good player, especially given the draft position. Funny to think that it may have been his size that allowed him to fall in this draft.

Interesting pick: Reinhart - In the case of Reinhart he was obviously a great talent - just one who was continually injured and one of my favourite what could have beens

Reaches: Williams - better players left on the board, if you are looking for toughness there are better players, skill better players, ugly jerseys... well

I'll take one of the few guys to win the Conn Smythe in a losing effort (as well as the Vezina that same year)

The performance of Hextall in game 6 tied the series and forced a seventh game; Between the sixth and seventh games, the Oilers' forward Wayne Gretzky described Hextall as "probably the best goaltender I've ever played against in the NHL"

I don't mind the fact that he is a bona-fide psychopath either.

I love how MMM says he himself reached for Makarov. Pretty honest evaluation right there.

Makarov has to be a steal if Bure and Ovechkin are going in the second round. Fetisov and Tretiak a couple picks later shows at worst he was picked right around the place he should have been but I would argue that and your Kharlamov pick were steals.
