Iranian lawmakers and commanders issued stark warnings to the United States and its allies on Tuesday, saying any military strike on Syria would lead to a retaliatory attack on Israel fanned by “the flames of outrage.”

The Lebanese army looks to be getting ready for whatever comes their way. More tanks arriving at the bases and more soldiers are present.

Just a question: why is using chemical weapons that kills hundreds or thousands of people more reprehensible or deserve military intervention, while the slaughter of tens of thousands through conventional means does not deserve intervention?
The end result is the same, so why does it matter what the delivery system was?
Is it because of the treaties surrounding such acts, or the ease of killing?

Because chemical weapons would be disastrous for this planet. Sure, people die by bullets and bombs every day but imagine having 2 nations flinging missiles filled with chemicals in them.
The amount of innocent people who'd die would be unheard of.

So what has Israel done in all this to cause it to have missiles launched against it?

Considering most Middle East countries don't recognize that Israel exists, they would love nothing more to make that an actual reality. Most countries in that region have also been in some form of conflict with Israel and again would love to see them disappear.

Because it's pretty much the only thing that is holding America back from bombing the crap out of the whole Middle East.
The only place they could seek revenge is against Israel. They can't get near the States so they will try to hurt them the only place they can.

Yeah that I know.
I was wondering if Israel has had any direct involvement that would cause a country(s) to attack them.

The UN team is still investigating and haven't endorsed the allegations that it came from the Syrian government yet Joe Biden is spouting off like it has been confirmed.

Every country in the Middle East wishes they could destroy Israel, but they know doing so would get them destroyed even faster by the US. I guess the thinking is if the US is going to interject themselves into this might as well go after Israel too just because there's an opportunity.

Many people and countries did not believe the evidence for WMDs in Iraq and it was why the US had a much tougher time putting a coalition together. Many weapons inspectors on the ground did not have the belief that Hussein had WMDs.
There is no denying that chemical weapons were used. As many experts have now said...the number of people affected, the consistency of symptoms is simply much too hard to fake and if fake very easy to determine it was faked through basic investigation. International groups (doctors without borders etc) have said they were used. The UN inspectors I believe now say they have been used. Russia isn't even contesting that nerve agents have been used.
The question is no longer "if" they have been used but rather "who" and as such the investigations will turn to evidence of delivery and who has access to those means. Most countries believe it was Assad at this time and the ones who support him seem to be silent on this issue right now. We'll find out what some of the countries have to say when UN resolutions are brought forth.

Isn't it just a retaliation thing?
Its hard to retaliate against the west militarily. Easiest way is to hit Israel.
I think Iran has already threatened that haven't they?
