The way Google Now learns your lifestyle is crazy. For example, my son has Tae Kwon Do lessons 3 days a week. Google now has figured this out and now tells me how long it will take to drive there and checks for traffic. Awesome.

It's in the cloud so even if you change devices or add a new one, it'll all contain the same info. When it comes to some more location dependent things it generally defaults to whichever device is used more. Which is likely to be the phone.

I think, for better results try setting Search on google.com to on (checked). I believe you will get more speech results this way.

I must live a pretty boring life as I have Google Now activated but it doesn't do much.

It's for specific cards like weather, Wikipedia info and the like where it'll speak back. Otherwise Google Now isn't much of a 'personal' assistant the same way Siri is.

If you want an assistant, Assistant by SpeakToIt is pretty good. I find that in general, having the info I want pop up without having to ask for it is much, much more useful than an assistant. This is probably why I use Google now every day but use SIRI maybe once a month.

My Google now stopped doing that. Any idea how to reactivate it?

Switch off mobile data when you're not in need of it, and that tends to help a great deal. Though I don't even do that anymore and still manage to find myself at 30% by the time I'm get home.

Just received a small over the air update to my Nexus 4, battery too low so will install later. Not sure what it is, just a couple small fixes?

Installed mine. Not sure what was in it. Description was the same as 4.3. Bug fixes is my guess.

So who's picked up a 2nd gen Nexus 7?

I'm thinking of formatting my 1st gen, and using it for work (presentations, etc) and picking up a 2nd gen for personal.

The reviews look great and the price point can't be beat for that kind of hardware and pure android.

Thoughts?

It's a security bug related to the android bitcoin thefts that was reported not too long ago. Emergency fix that shouldn't affect any functionality.

Specifically, it was a bug in the Random Number Generator, that would cause them same value to be returned on certain cicumstances. In the case of BTC wallets, it was returning the same value every single time, which caused a very large issue with the encryption.

I'm on my 2013 Nexus 7 now. I really like it! The screen is gorgeous, performance is smooth, and the speakers sound relatively good for a tablet. It's been great!

In what will undoubtedly be seen as a way to clear inventory before the inevitable launch of a successor, Google has lowered the price of the Nexus 4 to an astounding $199 and $249.

Son of a bitch. A week after I bought in.

Edit - And bought at a futureshop in Vancouver...not sure if I have a receipt and not sure if I could even get money back from a store in Edmonton.

Wow. Just ridiculous. Shame you can't really price match cellular hardware. How much is shipping anyways?

Sounds like it would be a shade over $275 for the 16GB versus $315 from a retailer.
