Re : Winnipeg's OC Gary Crowton making a decision on starting Max Hall instead of Justin Goltz. Head Coach Tim Burke claiming he disagree with the decision but couldn't do anything. Wow, he is the head coach or a puppet. Imagine OC Dave Dickenson going over Huf's head in deciding who will start? Not gonna happen. I am beginning to think the reason the Bombers are struggling (especially the offense) was because nobody knows who is running the show. I don't think Tim Burke will last before the end of the season as head coach if he doesn't put his foot down. Was it Crowton making the decision or the new guy Marcel?

Hard to think it was Marcel seeing as how he just go there (and wouldn't have much, if any familiarity with Hall); Crowton is a former BYU guy so maybe he thinks Hall better fits his passing attack whereas Burke thought Goltz should be the guy.

However, the fact that Burke is getting overruled in the first place is ridiculous -- it's as if management let Burke make the call, but now that they're gone, they want Crowton (and now Marcel) to call the shots on offence (and therefore the about-face on Goltz). I agree Burke is gone at the end of the year (if not sooner).

Jason Vega coming back to the CFL? He's a free agent. Does he go back to the circus that is Winnipeg? Hamilton? Montreal? Another shot at the NFL?

Chris Garret released by Winnipeg. Kinda of shocking if you ask me.

Sticking with the Winnipeg there was some articles out today by Paul Friesen of the Winnipeg Sun, Paul Wiecek of the Winnipeg Free Press, and Gary Laweless of the Winnipeg Free Press on Joe Mack.

He was a a meddler with the coaches and coaching decisions, and that he didn't listen to Kyle Walters suggestions on drafting.

Failed to listen to Kyle Walters about drafting Mike Edem (stud) and went with Andy Mulamba (Green Bay).

Failed to listen to again Kyle Walters who recommended trading a 2nd round pick and another pick to Calgary for Kevin Glenn. Joe Mack said his QB's were better then him.

Montreal signs former Heisman winning QB Troy Smith to a 2 year deal
http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=429790

Kinda feel bad for him, really liked him back in his Buckeyes days. Sounded like he had really cleaned his act up when he got into the NFL and reportedly had shown excellent leadership skills.

Was probably going to be the starter in Baltimore in '08 but then developed Lemierre's Syndrome during TC, making rookie Flacco the starter by default, the rest is history. Really wonder what could've been, that's the way she goes in pro sports.

Good old Wally Buono playing hardball as Hugh O'Neil was cut.

Lowell Ullrich in his column wrote today that Wally Buono had forwarded a contract extension to Tim Fleiszer (Hugh O'Neil's agent) two months ago. They were not able to reach an agreement.

Wally Buono not being able to reach an extension and him not happy with Hugh O'Neill's kickoff performance he decided to cut him. My money is on Edmonton to sign Hugh O'Neill.

Anyone else watching the game notice Max Hall's hot mom who is GILF material last night, his wife is MILF materiel as well.

Before I derail this tread completely with hot moms and wives in the CFL, Hall sure has a weak arm, with being said I think Pierce is their only hope to win games right now. Did I just say that?

Things go from bad to worse for Montreal as AC left after getting hit. He pointed to his vision when Popp came over to him on the sideline so draw your conclusion on that one. Josh Boruke left after getting rolled up on, not good when your already paper thin at OL, and lose arguably your best player on OL after losing Flory. John Bowman, Kyries Hebert, and Martin Bédard (maybe not be a recognizable name but he is rather important as he is the LS) all got hurt as well.

Made me sick my stomach as well to see Bagg knee give out on him after everything he has been through. The look on his face didn't look good at all. I really don't want to say this but that's more then likely the end of his football career.

I want some of what Rod Black is smoking. For him to see that was the best game of the season is laughable as that was an AWFUL game.

An exciting final 3 minutes did not redeem that abomination of a game.

BTW, how in the fata does Montreal not have a capable backup for their dinosaur of a starting QB?

Who didn't see that coming?
Quote:
Head Coach Tim Burke has announced that Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach Gary Crowton has been relieved of his duties effective immediately. Marcel Bellefeuille will take over coordinator duties for the remainder of the year.

“No one in our organization is happy with the way we have performed so far this season,” said Burke. “Our offence has not played up to their standards and we need to make this change in order to give us a chance at remaining in the hunt for the post season. I wish Gary all the best in his future endeavours.”

Bellefeuille was added to Winnipeg's coaching staff on August 12th after spending last season with the Omaha Nighthawks of the United Football League. He was the Hamilton Tiger-Cats' Head Coach from 2009-2011 and has an extensive background in the CFL, working as a position coach and offensive coordinator with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Montreal Alouettes and Tiger-Cats.

Ricky Ray is the best QB in the CFL right now and its not even close. IMO.

Reilly's touch on some of the passes this game has been fantastic.

Kavis is a damn clown who had a brain fart, down by 10 with 19 seconds left, he brought out the FG team from about the 25 yard line, not realizing apparently that off a FG, Toronto can just take the ball at their 35 and kneel out the game. So just before they kicked it, he had to run way out on the field to take a flag and get his O back on there, moving the ball back 10 yards in the process.

I wouldn't be surprised if that was his last "brain fart" with Edmonton

The Beard lives on, being serious though Shaw needs to someone to put pressure on him as he hasn't exactly been good and they are paying him serous $$$ for his services.
