Calgary cops on the lookout for Stolen Fire Truck

Somewhere in Calgary’s northeast, late Friday night, someone was out joyriding in a stolen fire truck.
Police said they received a call about 11 p.m. to report someone skulking outside the fire station at 1991 18 Ave. N.E.
Ellefson said aside from a possible sighting in the community of Abbeydale, nobody has actually traced the vehicle’s location as of press time.
He said he would think a person with a stolen marked vehicle would want to get off the street — fast.
Police were on the hunt with units on the roads and a helicopter in the air

You would think that all the Calgary police and fire vehicles would be installed with some sort of GPS tracking (LoJack) type of technology.
Wow...this has to be a first.

Yeah if it took me 30 seconds to find my iPhone which is worth $200 it's hard to imagine why a truck worth a couple hundred thousand wouldn't be installed with GPS.

It was probably stolen because it's a Ford F-250, one of the most stolen vehicles, not because it's a fire truck.
