I feel bad for the pen - so strong for so long, and people view it as them doing their job. Finally their workload catches up to them, and people are down on them. Not directed at you neither FFDU, just in general. It's a darn good bullpen - just starting to see cracks in the armour now.
I know some people don't like Lawrie. Hell I was frustrated by him earlier in the season, but it is pretty clear he loves this team and his teammates. That love seems to mutual. Just look at EE tonight, he gave Lawrie a big, happy hug. Lawrie is calming down, DeRosa has been great for him. He will always be intense but is learning how to rein it in. I honestly see a lot of myself in Lawrie. A fire that burns hot, one that will get out of control at times but when controlled is truly amazing.
That being said, when I grow up I want to be like Kawasaki.
I agree with you about the 'pen dusty. Has been a major strength for the Jays all season. I also think the pen is put in tough situations by the Jays a lot. Basically having to hold 1 or 2 runs leads for 4 plus innings a lot. Which is not an easy situation for any pitcher to come into.
Major news being reported about all inclusive replay in baseball next year and if I read it right that the decisions will be made like in hockey by a group not even in the ball park. This is a huge positive step to get things right in baseball when it is obvious the umpires cant/ refuse to make the right calls.
Baseball, using its central MLBAM offices in New York, will be provided with replay cameras that will be monitored by men with umpiring experience. They will make the final call on disputed plays, not the crew chief.

random question to my fellow Blue Jays fans....Roy "Doc" Halladay, as a fan, would you like for the team to take this guy back as a low risk/high reward signing? I know he's on the decline and just had a season ending elbow surgery, but, if there's a way that we can have Doc checkout the "weighted ball" program to get his mojo/cutter close to where it was, I think the guy can still pitch in the AL EAST. Your thoughts?
I guess it all depends on whether or not Doc would even entertain coming back to Toronto - I think it was this spring, he basically said Philadelphia was his home and was happy there. And if I remember correctly he had a couple of shots at Toronto in there too, but I could be mistaken.
My heart tells me I'd love Doc to come back - guy was so dominant when he was here, but the club just couldn't fill out a roster around him. I think he was soured by this, and truthfully, can't say I blame him. Very Felix Hernandez esque. Guy pitched a lot of great innings for this ball club, and was rewarded with no help.
I really question whether or not he can be a top two starter in the MLB again, and if he can't, what is he that we don't already have?
