Tell yourself whatever you want. The fact is, nobody is offended by no smell; some are offended by some smell.

I'm surprised at a lot of the comments too. Most women I ever met like-love colognes or certain scents. I have been bought colognes by many of my girlfriends. Always a scent they like of course.

This is not to say that wearing nothing is bad, or that if you don't you stink or you won't do well. Just that nearly every women I've ever met definitely enjoys a scent of some kind.

The funny thing is I rarely wear it myself. I have a very sensitive sense of smell (I guess some people of both sexes might be the same and thus not be crazy about colognes/perfumes) and I get a headache or nauseous with strong scents like perfume, smoke, etc. When I get in an elevator where someone has piled it on, it can really bug me. So I often don't wear any.

The thing is though. Whether your a man or a woman, your not supposed to wear much at all. As was mentioned, the trick is to only be able to smell it if the person is right next to you, basically touching you in some way. Funny enough I often find womwn are more guilty of wearing to much than men. Especially those middle aged to older women. You know, the ones who defile an elevator or office space with some god awful flowery scent that clings to everything hours after they pass by.

But if it's worn properly, it really shouldn't offend anyone. When I do wear it, it's very subtle, not just cause that's what I've been told you should do, but also so it won't bother me.

One question for the OP (or anyone else). As far as the essential oils go, wouldn't making your own by close to as expensive anyway? Good oils are not cheap.

I am pretty shocked by the amount of people on this forum who don't wear cologne.. Stuff has been a staple for me since I was in grade 4. I was the #### strutting around smellin' like Brute.

No one is saying to bathe in it, keep it subtle and your lady will appreciate it.

I only wear cologne on special occasions like weddings and birthday parties it when I hang out with friends. I don't wear it to work.

And I'll echo sentiments others have mentioned. From what I can tell, cologne is considered somewhat dbaggy these days. Your modern woman LOVES the fresh out of the shower smell more than anything. Get a nice smelling shaving cream, keep your breath in check and your in great shape.

I don't think it is cologne that women consider dbaggy. It's the guys that bathe in it or feel like it has worn off in 2 hours ( ) that chokes them out. I blame those stupid Axe commercials for giving guys the idea that they have to cover themselves in it.

In my opinion it is the same for women. If they have a slight scent of perfume it is great. If you smell them from 10 ft away it isn't.

You do realize that they liked that scent because some other guy smelled like it first, right?

Not always. I'll give you a bit of mind bending props, 50 percent probably falls (at least in my life) into that.

The other stories were not built on other guys. Very specific stories.

Even with the others, they're just perfecting. Why you so bitter?

That is actually a great point. Upon starting this thread I was unaware of how much these oils actually cost, but after looking a few up yesterday you're dead on, I don't think there would be much savings at all. So much for that idea.

As an aside, I too am pretty shocked that so many CP'ers are anti cologne. I've always kept some around and use it 4-5 days a week most of the time, but usually only 1-2 squirts on my neck, if that is enough to bother other people colour me shocked.

Yeah seemed more like a hobbiest idea than a money saving idea to me. I could see it being awesome, but I can see getting there taking time and money.

Scents are overpriced, but there is no alternative. As I mentioned before, I am also surprised at the machismo here. Regardless, if you get something cool, text me. More curious about the experiment. Who knows?!
